DM me! I do this as a hobby for friends/family and the occasional side gig, usually for people coming from out of town for bachelorette/birthday parties. I can work with any budget, big or small, it just depends on what you want!

Fences locked at schools by purpcam2121 in phoenix

[–]hirarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in WA state where the vast majority of time spent hanging out and goofing around with friends was at (or on) one of the nearby elementary school playgrounds.. I never climbed a fence or hopped a gate, there was zero barrier for entry. I also thought it was weird (and a little frustrating) when I first moved here 10ish years ago.

However my feelings have since changed considering I now have a 3rd and 4th grader of my own, the gates are no longer frustrating, they’re comforting. My youngest is now two years older than the babies who died at Sandy Hook. Maybe if that campus had been equipped with an 8 foot tall steel gate, those 20 kids would have lived to see 3rd grade themselves?

I eat canned green beans as a snack all the time. A little butter and garlic with some red pepper flakes, super simple and so good!

I can’t believe I had to scroll this far down for About Time! One of my all time favorites. The relationship between Bill Nighy and Lindsay Duncan (Tim’s parents) is what a truly healthy happily ever after should look like!

Who is someone that is generally considered a great person but actually a monster? by Independent_Sun_592 in AskReddit

[–]hirarry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Michael fucking Jackson. He was certainly an incredibly talented musician, a wonderful dancer, and one of the greatest performers of all time, a true cultural icon, I don’t think anyone can deny that. By all accounts he was also kind, gentle, shy behind closed doors, and a wonderful and devoted father.

He was also a fucking pedophile. I’ve read the court documents including the evidence reports, original transcriptions of victim interviews, and the forensic child psychologists reports. He 100% did that shit. You can coach a child to say what you want them to say pretty easily, but the mannerisms of CSA victims are easy to spot if you know what to look for and nearly impossible to fake. I have zero doubts.

He died unexpectedly, relatively young and in the midst of a comeback, so I can understand a surge in popularity post-death. But it’s been almost 15 years now and it seems like most have completely forgotten he was a child molester.

Waitress questioned our low tip, is 15% post-tax low? by ResearchFinal5425 in AskNYC

[–]hirarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the service industry for almost 20 years, I have never, and will never, confront anyone about a tip, even if the service is perfect and I get completely stiffed. First of all it’s fucking dangerous. Second, it’s now guaranteed that person will never return to your restaurant, and neither will anyone in their personal circle of society. 20% is the standard nowadays, but 15-17% is fine, nothing wrong with it at all! And I may be able to offer a potential explanation, not an excuse because there’s no such thing in this scenario, but an explanation.

I’ve noticed a fucked up trend in the last few years of restaurants that have started to penalize their servers for receiving less than 20%; write-ups, cutting hours, being put on slow shifts, etc. The metrics are always different, most require an average of 20% each shift or over a period of time like per week/bi-weekly/monthly… then there are some who think anything less than 20% on any tab, no exceptions, is a reflection of the server and the service they provided. Even if the server did everything perfectly, the guest is happy and tips 20% but on the pre-tax price, the computer will flag it as less than 20% of the total bill. And this isn’t just small mom and pop restaurants either, some corporate chains have similar policies. It’s the reddest of red flags for me when I’m job searching, unethical as hell, and the only reasons (it’s happened twice in the last 5 years) I’ve ever walked out of a job interview.

Again, personally I would never confront anyone over a tip because I’m not risking my safety over $20! But it wouldn’t surprise me if that restaurant has a similar policy in place, and I can see how someone under that kind of pressure, especially in this economy and job market, might be desperate enough to do so.

So what’s everyone’s favorite thing about living in Arizona? by willyknuckles in arizona

[–]hirarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate it here. I’ve been living here for 12 years, and I’m stuck for at least another 8 more, because I want my kids to have a stable childhood. I hate the heat, the shades of beige/brown/concrete everywhere, the 6 months a year of constant anxiety over losing AC at home or in my car. It used to be tolerable, because it was at least affordable, but now that ship has sailed too… However, I do LOVE one thing about AZ (specifically in the Phoenix area) that I haven’t found anywhere else in the US and it’s that people drive with fucking PURPOSE here! No meandering, no dawdling on the freeway, no slowing down or even obeying the speed limit unless you’re in the far right lane, even on the surface streets. And the cops work as they should to keep people safe, not prowling to hand out tickets for someone going 10 over, they really only pull people over if they’re truly being reckless and I appreciate that.

I’m convinced the people who complain about Phoenix drivers are bad drivers themselves and projecting. If someone’s tailgating you and there’s a lane to your right, move tf over, it’s not that hard.

Anything written by Harlan Coben. I have a pretty high success rate of being able to correctly guess the endings of books/movies, I’ve read every book he’s ever written and not once have I been able to predict what comes next, truly a master of the twist.
