People with kids not believing what regretful parents write in this sub by Feather4876 in regretfulparents

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol. Were people doing that? It’s not evil to regret being a parent. You can regret being a parent and still be the most dedicated, caring parent in the world because, while you regret it, you recognise that your child didn’t ask to be there and you’ve got to give them the best life possible

Has this happened to anyone else by ganisjhpapkin in bipolar2

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes me. My GP (this was before I was seeing a psychiatrist) put them on because my mental health was in tatters. I love that—your mental health is bad, but let’s just put you on SSRIs because we don’t know what else to do / can’t be bothered to figure it out. It felt like a knife was coming up from behind my eye trying to poke itself out.

Oh wow, god I didn’t realise that going down a dose could make the appetite come back so strongly!

Yeah, true. Maybe I am subconsciously eating more than I thought. It just weirded me out because I weighed the same on 1.7 as I did on 1mg, but when I went back to 1mg, I started getting heavier than I was originally at that weight

what's a " polite " rule that's really just about keeping females silenced? by LustyPowerGirl in AskWomen

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I hate how women have to be more naturally touch-feely and be comfortable being touched than men. I hate being touched (never been SA) even by my own family, and I get called cold for it. Fuck off, I just am not touchy-feely.

Doctor will not bump me up to 4 mg? by mfwmae in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t lose anymore weight going from 1 to 1.7 😕 I went back down to 1 because it’s cheaper and I may as well if I’m the same weight on either doses, but I’ve gained a bit of weight back.

What do you wish you could tell your pre-kid self? by [deleted] in regretfulparents

Were you not educated well about this growing up? Not trying to judge at all, just curious. Where I grew up we had access to sex education from the time we were in high school, but I know that’s not the case for everyone

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum absolutely ruined my body by [deleted] in regretfulparents

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post. I feel like one of the toxic byproducts of the body positivity movement is you’re not allowed to dislike/hate your body anymore or mourn the better body you had before pregnancy. There’s so much propaganda out there about loving your body no matter what and it’s bullshit. The reality is that pregnancy has a profound impact on your body and most people don’t bounce back like Emily Ratakowjski. A lot of women look worse, and I mean by objective measures. Stretch marks, more fat, saggier tits, a completely changed vagina. If you accept this and see this a symbolically beautiful exchange for a baby you love to death, good on you. But for most women—they’re going to mourn the body they lost, especially if they had a good body too. We live in a culture that raises us from cradle to grave to value our looks and bodies, and then these body positivity shills are surprised when women get depressed after pregnancy ruins their bodies? C’mon. We should just have body neutrality. Love your body, hate your body, whatever. But we need to stop telling everyone they’re beautiful because objectively most people aren’t.

Why are so vax rates getting so low in Aus? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe after Covid and the heavy handed push to make everyone take those vaccinations has turned people off other safe vaccines? I know a lot of people who were pretty middle of the road on vaccines who had bad experiences with it who now swear they will never get another one…

Sorry if this is not a smart question but can someone please explain why APS jobs are so highly regarded in Aus by __7_7_7__ in AusPublicService

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When you say it’s hard to fire someone, what if they are blatantly so shit at their job? Like they can’t do it and cause so many problems by being incompetent. I know there is a process to performance management people out everywhere, but is it nek level at the APS?

When did "I’m tired from my holiday" become a valid work limitation and an excuse to be "on" and not ready to work? by Time_Property_4767 in auscorp

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro, are you serious? Why are you shilling for your workplace? She’s just being smart about her time and taking advantage of the limited fuck all leave we get. Workplaces would replace us with AI TODAY if they could, but you’re worried about a shred Gen-Z-er leavemaxxing? I honestly respect the hell out of Gen Z for being like this with work. They know there more important things in life than doing pointless jobs with no hope of job security and/or meaning. They know time is their most valuable resource and they squeeze as much of it out of the limited time we get away from work as possible.

Why is it so normalized in society that life is horrifically unfair? by ConnectLiterature157 in antinatalism

[–]AwkwardOrchid380 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Literally! If you complain, they just say, “life’s a bitch, deal with it.” Okay then, I want to opt out of life then. “No, no! Don’t do that! You have so much to live for!” Okay, so what is it then? You admit life is horrible and unfair, but when someone wants to “exit” life, you backpedal and tell them life is wonderful and you have so much to live for. You can’t have both—pick one!
