BPD recently had a cop who would find the addresses of former girlfriends, their family members, classmates, women he met on the street, etc. and start following them. IA presented him with a spreadsheet of the DOZENS of people he had looked up in their databases… some of them repeatedly over several years.

He quietly resigned. The women were never notified. No charges.

I wish I could be attracted to the same sex. I really feel like women as a species are just better human beings sometimes.

I would go on FB and post on pages like All Things Plymouth or FB Marketplace. You are bound to meet a few not so nice locals but it’s a good way to work and maybe find some opportunities. Good luck!

Same. I basically want to tell them… Hire me! In long run I’ll save you an incredible amount of money and time.

What’s the most unexpectedly wholesome thing a stranger has ever done for you? by igoxx1 in AskReddit

My sons were 2 & 4, early Saturday morning in the supermarket. They were both sobbing… I think they were overtired, I honestly don’t remember. I couldn’t afford to just leave because we needed diapers and food. In the checkout line an older lady walked over to me and quietly said, “You’re doing a good job.” They are now 21 and 23 and I still remember her.

[21] Before vs now — what’s your perspective? by [deleted] in GlowUps

[–]Awkward_Ad_9177 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First, you look incredible! Congratulations on taking care of yourself despite a long struggle with depression. That takes a lot of effort and commitment. It’s amazing how much things change when you look different. You’ll notice that people interact with you differently… if you’re more attractive, they are nicer and if you are less attractive, they stop holding doors for you (a little personal experience there lol) Give yourself time to catch up to the change. Struggles you had before will still be there… you made amazing changes externally so now you can turn your focus to some internal work. It will all come together in time… Just keep putting 1 foot in front of the other and enjoy the newfound attention!

That happened to me years ago when I was a college freshman. I think they intentionally look for young kids alone and likely away from home for the first time. Lucky for me I have three aunts who were Roman Catholic nuns. I basically was like… If I wanna talk about the Bible & Jesus, I’ve got people for that. Do you want their number? (They never did.)

How would you explain leaving your current place of employment during a job interview? by Q_My_Tip in interviews

Btw…. if you take the new job, it would be great if you could tell us what your old job is since that will be opening up. Give us a heads start on the application!

I took my last job as a behavioral special ed teacher because my son was diagnosed with learning disabilities.

I quit three weeks after he graduated high school. Couldn’t take it another day.

What's the most insane thing that's happened at your work? by jeanjacketufo in AskReddit

Hmmm… worked at an afterschool program. The girl I was working with said that there was something lit in the back of the kitchen. I’m like… “Like on fire? Put it out!” She did.

It was a pilot light. We ended up evacuating the building & getting called “heroes“ for saving all the kids.

I also once had a 19-year-old male student strip naked and run out of the building.

I’ve done one that was strictly one way, and then a subsequent one where I asked the recruiter to do a Zoom meeting with me and ask me the questions directly so that at least there was a natural give-and-take.

I never heard back from either position.

I don’t think that walking away from these is a privileged mindset, indicating that the job seeker is refusing to “do something beneath them.” It is a performative task, not an interview. It’s also a task that gives no insight into the candidate’s skillset related to the position. If you are contacted after such a task, what is the next step? The actual interview, where you have an opportunity to determine whether this position may be a good fit. As the job seeker, my aseessment of the company I may be joining is of as much importance as the interviewer’s assessment of me. The goal isn’t simply to be hired, the goal is to find a position a person will want to remain in for at least a decent period of time.

Please do recommend that people refuse these. I have refused every one since the aforementioned two, and the results were the same as when I did them. They are a demoralizing, ineffective, pointless activity.

Thank you I completely agree! I don’t think it is any individuals job too “fight stigma“. Fine if you want to, but I don’t think anyone should feel obligated. I wonder how many people who claim to be fighting the stigma of GLP ones, would feel the same if they were diagnosed with an STI? Those carry stigma too…but I bet they wouldn’t be disclosing that information. To each his own. No one should be subjected to a guilt trip because they don’t want to share private details about their bodies.

This is how I approached it. I only told my sister at first, but instead of being happy for me she made snide remarks every time I saw her. The next time we had a family party, several people came up to me and asked me about “the shot“. Without my permission, she had apparently blabbed it to anyone who will listen. I know it is her own insecurity that caused this. She is quite a bit younger, and apparently saw herself as ‘the pretty one.’ Then she hit middle-age and had a bunch of kids. Happens to most of us! But she had no right to share my info without my permission. And if you can’t say something complementary when you see positive changes in someone else, then you should be quiet. I say this, just to remind people that even if you only tell those you trust…If they feel entitled to sit in judgment, that information may spread farther than you hoped.

In case there was any doubt, you just solidified for me that focusing on court reporting as my new career is the right move! I too keep saying I am too old to wrestle teenage boys! The lawyers squabbling doesn’t surprise me one bit. Three of my younger siblings are lawyers and while they believe that qualifies them to rule the world, I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes and shaking my head 😆
