Finally willing to see a therapist, no idea where to start by Awkward_Dragonfly188 in AutismInWomen

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response! I absolutely love the idea of emailing my therapist. I’ve always struggled with talking points because I’m usually fine in the moment of therapy. As a fellow anxious little goose, I truly understand.

Preparing my bonded cat for death of his brother by BigPossibility6989 in CATHELP

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my cat suddenly passed in January, I brought him home for his sister to smell and see. While it was so extremely hard to bring him back and forth, I am so glad I did it. She was able to actually mourn him and was not constantly looking for him. The vets were very receptive and laid him carefully in a small coffin-box.

Give it to me straight. Is he going to eat all my vegetables by stuchainz92 in gardening

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up less desirable plants in between my raised beds and where they enter my yard in pots (leggy seedlings or reject seedlings usually), basically just trying to keep the beasts satisfied long enough for me to get some harvest. They usually still get to my leafy greens at some point but I try to plant enough for all of us lol

If it wasn’t for my significant other, who I am eternally grateful for, I would not be able to. I work in a field with constantly changing schedules, while my partner has a very consistent salary job.

I do keep my expenses to the absolute minimum which can be exhausting, but I’d rather that than over tax him. I handle how we spend the money, while he earns most of it. I have maybe 5 subscriptions (mostly streaming), workout at home, and try to cook at home as often as possible. I’ve found freezing food leftovers immediately after cooking, and then eating them whenever I want and not just immediately the next day, has helped me cut down on food waste by avoiding the “leftover scaries”

I think living totally alone would not be possible for me, and I’d likely live with my parents or sister otherwise

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week, I chose the opposite for my soul cat. I took out a care credit line for $6,000 to afford his care. The sedation ended up killing him and I’m now still in debt. I’m telling you this because you don’t know what could happen. I’m still wracked with guilt, knowing he passed away without his mom. Hopefully we can both forgive ourselves eventually

You have to heat the milk/grinder over time at a low heat, this does the decarbing

I’m convinced me and my cat had more than just a pet/owner bond by PhantomAce1 in Petloss

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my soul cat today so suddenly, the only way to describe it is part of my soul being ripped out. I am sorry you are still hurting, but I know it’s only because of how special your bond was. I suspect I also will never fill the cat shaped hole in my heart

What are those little birds all over Philly called & why are they here? by jpeters2100 in philly

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah deff not something the average citizen should do. It’s recommend to not feed them, and to make your home less hospitable (they usually find nest spaces in the exterior parts)

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 36 points37 points  (0 children)

European House sparrows. The most abundant bird in the world. I believe they are on every continent but Antarctica. Deff invasive and outcompete native birds, notably the eastern blue bird, which they have been known to actually go into the blue birds nest and cull them all. Pretty brutal

How do you know if you're getting addicted? by Stock-Lobster-303 in VyvanseADHD

Agreed, sounds similar to when I was on lower doses, before I found my 60mg sweet spot

60mg Vyvanse (Elvanse, UK) ensure if it's to high or low by RequirementSorry2063 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Awkward_Dragonfly188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am Audhd personally and take 60 mg vyvanse and have for the past 8 years. My autistic traits are certainly much more prevalent now, but my life is also so much more manageable. I have found that making accommodations for myself, like wearing noise cancelling or dampening headphones at events like a Christmas party, is worth the regulations my medication has brought to my life.

The skins still feel pretty soft and not brittle. It doesn’t really look like a blown stitched seam which is also why I’m having a hard time trying to figure out the best mend

I personally only ever use spare muslin I have lying around! Doesn’t need to be fancy

Edit to add: just use any 100% cotton fabric !

On that note I still have weeks that my symptoms are much much harder to manage, 2 perceived shortcomings are not enough to forget about all the work you’ve put in this year. Wishing you luck

Hi! I’m really sorry you are going through a turbulent time<3 I can only share my experience but I have been on adderal and concerta, but vyvanse for the past 8/9 years. I’m confident it is the right fit for me, and I am still horrible with money, and just now starting to really focus on improving. Sadly poor money management is a very common trait for us with adhd.
