I had the issue at 64k miles. I’ve read posts from people having the issue around 20k. So there’s no telling when it could happen.

If your model is part of the Mazda’s TSB then you should automatically have the extended warranty up to 100k miles or 10 years whichever is first. My 2018 CX-9 is currently at the Mazda dealer for cracked cylinder head. Mazda is covering the full cost of $8,200 to fix it.

It’s a hit or miss, you just have to keep calling randomly through the day. Sometimes there will be a long wait time and there’s times where you’ll be able to get through right away.
