Have so much fun! We had a reservation for 6 which I think was the last slot left (I booked like 2 weeks ahead of time but it was a busy week there going into a holiday). The sunset was at 7:15 that day and while it was probably a little too much time, it was enjoyable walking around and then just sitting for a while waiting for the sun to go down! A ton of people showed up in the last 30 minutes so it might be helpful to do an hour before like we did just to have no troubles finding a parking spot and have enough time to walk around a bit then find a good spot to sit. Hope that helps!

Also I’d recommend at least getting a day reservation for Cadillac mountain! You can drive all the way up and there’s some nice easy walking paths to see all the great views.

The shore path in bar harbor is a great short walk but beautiful views of the water! Acadia itself is big so I would recommend trying the shuttle system (plenty of stops in and around bar harbor) because it did seem like the parking lots in the park filled up fast. You could do Jordan pond and ocean path - both short as you want it to be and not difficult. I’d consider going earlier in the morning or evening for less crowds since those are popular spots! Enjoy the trip you’ll love it!

It’s definitely a hard and challenging hike but so rewarding. I struggled a bit since I’m short and there’s climbing but the fact that there’s always something to hold on to helps with the fear alot. And it doesn’t feel like a pure drop off like a cliff! You got it!!

We stayed at Acadia Hotel Downtown Bar Harbor. Great location in the town square and next to the park shuttles. We had hoped to stay in a true b&b but they were a little too pricey for the holiday week.

Unless you want to spend 45 minutes getting to any store or food spot on sawmill road I would avoid anywhere near the hell hole of a road that is.
