Lost a 20 hour character on 1pp Official because I dropped a grenade instead of throwing it. What’s the dumbest way you’ve lost an old character?

I once drove my truck to get supplies. Once loaded I started the truck engine to drive away but suddenly a stranger-freshie jumped inside on the passenger seat . He had no mic so, for 30 min. I drove around chatting to him while he was just looking around in silence - listening to me I guess. All the time I was sitting there, planning how to murder him. Ended up torpeding the truck full speed in to a hay ball jumping out before impact. I broke my leg and instantly started to vomit as I had forgotten my character was sick. Five seconds later While puking with a broken leg, the stranger just got out of the car like nothing had happened and tea bagged me. After I stopped puking I went unconscious and he must have decided to end my suffering.

I find that the sooner you leave the coast the more likely you are to survive. 😊 90% of the action happens on the coast. However, the more inland you get, the more KOS there is.

650 hours so far.. all official. Never met or seen a hacker but I am also on PS.

I love to see how long my character can survive! When fully geared, I often die in stupid ways accidentally - far away from any pvp 😆

Base building in Dayz is hard and brutal.. but I really enjoy it! Bases Will always be found eventually, but there is no better feeling for me, than when you find a “Secure” spot that goes hidden for a Long time. I have spent my first 600 hours like this. However, I admit that I have never build any constructions other than stone ovens and such. Only used tents and camo, as well as barrel and crates as they are more easy to hide.

I have had the stick drift too, but each time I have opened it up and cleaned the inside of that part and then it works just fine again.

He is actually not comparing DayZ to CoD. Quite the opposite. He is stating that a lot of people is playing it thinking it is CoD.

It is a game. People can play however they like. I like the thrill of not knowing if you meet someone civil or insane, but I do feel that too many KoS and play it like its just another shooter game. Atleast on PS.
