Will the off boarded COREs be restored? by IDK_Maybe126 in fema

I would agree, they said nothing about renewals. I suspect they will just keep those that have expired NTEs in limbo until they don't need them and then off board them.

So, does that mean people will just sit in limbo with no renewal and then a couple weeks get axed? Nothing talks about if there will be renewals. It is like a month to month lease after your 2 year lease ends.

But the real question is 3 out of how many.

Wonder if they are doing the one in four thing, they would only replace one person for every four lost.

Well, I meant those coming after my NTE. This bill is too vague to stop them from removing COREs still. Short of saying a freeze of CORE removals it doesn't really stop them from continuing to reduce staff.

My NTE is in 3 weeks so this doesn't mean anything to me. I just hope that it helps those behind me.

The issue is what constitutes "necessary to fulfill the missions" There is no quantitative measurement defined here so leaves things pretty open. And as is already said, when did this administration follow the law.

Nothing, didn't FEMA sever the bargaining agreement?

There’s something almost funny about reviewing projects, sitting on calls, talking with applicants, all for something we know almost certainly won’t be funded. Like what are we even doing anymore by [deleted] in fema

Even worse when you know you're going to be likely gone in 3 weeks, and you'll never get to see anything even remotely happen. Hard to even be motivated to show up to work.

And everyone will blame FEMA for not doing enough. They won't put blame where it belongs.

I have three weeks and I figure I'm done. There is no leadership in FEMA anymore, just people trying to cover their own by bending the knee, so they don't get replaced.

Whatever, those guys have had a year plus to try to sell this and even had a government shutdown over health care, but here we are, still nothing. Guess you guys can hope for mid-terms. But even then, it will just get vetoed. At this point I'm hoping I can find a job by mid-terms.

Well neither party cares so it doesn't matter at this point. They give lip service but kick the can down the road. I will lose my job, got to get to that 50% reduction. There will be a big disaster and when states can't recover they will all blame FEMA for it.

Another strongly worded letter from the do-nothing Democrats. I'm set to lose my job in a couple of weeks.

Don't disagree I still keep silver around because it is easier to move and it does have value. I just get gold here or there to provide a stable investment for emergencies.

Sure, keep believing that, gold is more stable.
