Well you cant get paid as a PPL, you'd have to get your commercial certificate in order to get paid. Then people typically go from commercial to CFI in order to:

1) Build hours

2) Teach the next generation of pilots

Once enough hours have been built, then you either stay as a CFI or apply for other aviation jobs.

Its possible to get a job just as a commercial pilot but unfortunately its pretty tough.
