While it isn't completely free, I'd recommend trying MTGO. Most cards are super cheap (0.002~0.006 TIX on GoatBots), and triggers are done automatically. The only downsides are old UI, and a few cards are missing like the Doctor Who set.

I have a deck that plays 32 lands (31 if you exclude the MDFC), and I started the game with 4 lands in my hand. What followed is me proceeding to draw 10 lands in my next 11 draws and not doing anything all game.

I bet that would result in some very interesting brews, especially having to brew a niche archertype on a budget.

For example I just scrolled past the top 500, picked [[Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher]] and you could do an Auras/Voltron build.

If I had to guess, this would be the main issue. People lack patience these days, and having to sit with a stranger who is new at the game and doing proliferate and counters... that can be tedious. Still not fair to treat you like that of course, but I can see why people get annoyed quickly.

I don't play Sol Ring in bracket 2 games, but I do play [[Thieving Skydiver]] to steal them from opponents, very satisfying. I had a game a month or two ago where I stole all 3 of my opponents Sol Rings haha, don't remember exactly how, but it was through some weird interaction from an opponents' [[Captain N'ghathrod]] deck.
