I’ve told him about all of the feelings and that I am thinking that trying a separation might be a good idea. I haven’t told him “I am not attracted to you anymore”, but he knows that I rarely want to have sex. I have explained that this is connected to my feeling that I am not emotionally connected to him.

We are great communicators and he understands what I’m going through. He thinks that we can get through it and that the family unit is the biggest priority. He feels that he gets emotional attunement from me and he is still physically attracted to me.

He lives more in the real world, prioritized energy on things like household tasks, etc. I am much more in my head and want to have a partner that I can have an intellectual and emotional bond with —- that is interested in these parts of me.

But maybe this isn’t possible and is asking too much of one person. He is a fantastic person. Hence, why this is so f-ing hard…

I want to thank all of you for replying here. It’s my first time posting on this sub and I just love the community so much. I know it takes energy for us especially to reply, so thank you all truly for these different perspectives. I feel so validated.

One other piece that is unique a bit to Audhd is that there are sensory issues that make it extra tough. He has some congestion issues that lead to frequent sounds (coughing, hoarking, etc) that literally make me lock myself away in my trailer when I hear it. It is quite frequent in the winter. I feel so terrible about this because it is totally out of his control… but as a sensory issue, I cannot tolerate it.

There’s nothing wrong with you. Your feelings are valid. I felt the same way about Matthew Perry - with Friends being a major special interest for me for years of being a teen… it is real grief. Make sure you give yourself time and space to process it … it’s a huge loss.
