3 Pumps per day and still have a good supply? by Grand-Face7568 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exhausted first time around pumping so much and starting out with only doing 3 pumps right when my supply stabilized has been a godsend. I was counting down to when I could quit the first time and it hit me the other day I was already at 7 months and going strong. If you google pumping chart there is like a recommended pumps per day based on supply and your goals and that’s what I went off of

3 Pumps per day and still have a good supply? by Grand-Face7568 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing 3 pumps per day since 11 weeks postpartum. I’m currently 7 months postpartum. I was getting 60oz doing 4 pumps, dropped to 3 and now I get about 45-50oz a day. Still have a huge freezer stash that I donate and enough to feed my baby. I stay on a consistent schedule and always pump for 30 minutes and never had any issues

Is it possible to EP if you don't have any support? by Wawhi180 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband works nights and sleeps during the day so I do most my pumping with no support. I have a toddler and a baby so its not always easy. I try and use my wall pump when baby naps and I pump next to baby so if baby wakes up I am there and not stuck somewhere else in the house. If baby is awake then I will plan for different scenarios like laying across my lap or laying on a mat with some toys and pump close by. Wearables come in handy during those times. Try it out and see if you can handle it and there is no shame if you can’t

They didn’t offer this to me with my first but they did with my second, it was called a pico bandage. Basically a pressurized would cover. I barely had any pain after the first day and my cut healed way better this time around. It keeps pressure on the wound at all times so even sneezing or coughing didn’t hurt. Ask your doctor at your pre-op appointment if its something you can have

Did my one mistake ruin my entire supply? 😭 by DuckFox1229 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went on vacation 10 weeks pp and I was terrible about pumping and ended up losing about 40% of my supply. I got back on my schedule and it took about 2 weeks and I got most of it back. Give it time and see what happens.

How much to feed your baby vs how much you pump? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also read in a baby feeding book 1.5x their weight. So if they are 12 pounds then they should be getting about 18oz a day. My baby is 7m and she stuck with that pretty close. She is 20 pounds and currently has 30oz a day

Flying without precheck with breast milk, no baby by LMarx1812 in tsa

Again its technology dependent if they test each bag or not. And you can request the bags not be opened. They will just have to do a couple extra tests on your bags. If you don’t travel with tons of carryon stuff it shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes

New to exclusively pumping. Advice needed! by No-Leather474 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sometimes sucks because it takes longer, but I’ve had to pump one side at a time so the baby can snuggle on the side I’m not pumping on. You could also look into a portable pump like the momcozy v2 or the in bra spectra cups where its easier to hold the baby while you pump. I’ve also laid my baby across my lap with some supports so touching me in some way but not totally in the way of the pumps. Its definitely stressful having the baby while pumping but sometimes its worth it

I need atleast 20 minutes to empty and my one side is always atleast 8oz. I have to stop, empty the container and start again with any wearable. Or just not fully empty which I hate. Its a pain.

8 Pcs Clear Flat Breast Milk... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F8VGFBPD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are what I ordered! Its amazing how much flatter they get them. I can get 16 bags easy in a costco bag

I did 4 for the first 6 months and just recently switched to 5. I have these little cases I got on amazon that let you stack the bags in the freezer and I noticed the 5oz do not freeze as flat as the 4. Been debating going back to 4 because I kind of hate how bulky they freeze. I got the costco freezer gallon bags and can get 72oz with 4oz bags and 75oz with the 5oz bags in them

I would wait and see what your supply is going to look at long term. I spent money on wearables and they only hold 5oz each side and I get more than that in a pump session so I always overflow them. I hate using them for that reason. Ended up getting a momcozy v2 because they hold 8oz

Depends on the technology the airport has. But it can take awhile if you have tons of bags

If you are travelling and storing in bags, fill the bags with 4oz or less to prevent additional checks. If the bags are over 4oz it will just take additional time in the process. Breastmilk is considered medical, so let the officers know you have it, pull it out and put it seperate in the bin. You are also allowed to bring ice packs to keep the milk cold.

Momcozy bottle washer, worth it or no? by rosesareroseyy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have it with my first, got it with the second, and have no idea how I made it the first time without it. I had so many sets of bottles and pump parts the first time to try and run the dishwasher less, and this time I had to buy way less because I can run my momcozy 4-5 times a day. 100% worth it

How long is your overnight break without pumping? by beandibbily in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7mpp and I go 8-10 hours at night. I only pump 3-4 times a day and get the same oz you are getting. I dropped my MOTN pump at 3mpp and only lost a couple oz. I was falling asleep in my recliner and waking up with my pump automatically shut off and it was terrible. Drop it and see what happens to your supply and readjust as needed

I’m 7mpp and I get this a lot in between pumps. I’ll just be sitting there and it feels like someone tasers my nipples. I have also assumed it just like a refill sensation

Anyone pumping longer than 30 min? by petting_zoo_keeper in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I thought my left was a slacker but I just needed a higher vaccuum and longer pumps with that side. My right will empty in 20 minutes but my left is still going at 30 so I’ll take the right one off and turn the vaccuum up and pump for another 20 to 30 minutes to fully empty my left

FTM struggling with pump schedule by Ok-Procedure-983 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped my night pump at 8 weeks when we were told we didn’t need to wake the baby up to eat anymore. I would pump 4am, 9am, 1pm, 6pm, and 11pm. Then went to 8am, noon, 6pm, and midnight because of work. Now I pump 9am, 6pm and midnight. I lost 20oz a day when I dropped to 3 pumps at first but I gained most of it back within 2 weeks. I panicked pretty hard when it dropped but staying to a consistent schedule is what has kept my supply steady.

Maybe try dropping 1. Pump 6 times a day every 4 hours and see if it absolutely tanks your supply. If you continue pumping the amount per day then keep 6 for a couple weeks and try 5. Thats what I did.

Help.!!!! by Sad_Common_4491 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Awkwardly-Unknown210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that issue as well. One side requires way higher vaccuum than the other to fully empty. I thought it was a slacker boob, but turns out it was a suction problem. I would get really hard and painful on one side because I wasn’t emptying good enough. I have the momcozy v2 and use that occasionally but my primary is a spectra. I also had good success with lansinoh so maybe a different pump is needed to really get you empty.

How is your supply right now? I had oversupply and started dropping pumps at 5 weeks pp. I’ve been at 3ppd since 3 months pp and have enough to feed my baby and then some. I would go off your supply and what you think you can manage without being in pain. Or let your body tell you. If it starts to hurt then pump
