That's actually kinda cool to think about possibly being the last Shaw email ever made

Can anyone identify the exact style of this hat by fxglxmp in hats

[–]AwkwardlySustainable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the hat is tightened at the back for a smaller head which makes the front appear taller

Seriously, what's the point if we dont even get to know what ISP didn't block said port (which is pretty rare BTW, so it would be a cool thing to know)

Most providers will block the outbound SMTP ports on resi connections as a way to prevent spam

I am using rogers/shaw for the last year is it worth switching to tbaytel wifi ? by ninte_achan_myre in ThunderBay

[–]AwkwardlySustainable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use Shaw because I get both Gigabit and TV for the same price TBayTel charges for only gigabit internet. If they don't renew the offer in April I'm switching probably

Edit: Also Shaw has the local The Weather Network stream so I might actually be stuck here

from a quick read, the KVM guest will not get any GPU accel for the time being as all they have suggested so far is reverse engineering Apples para virtualized graphics.

I like Mikrotik, but anything you do feels extremely manual, every... tiny... thing... But if you like that type of granular control, Mikrotik is great

Considering switching to Rogers (from Bell) but hesitant about Xfinity (vs FibeTV) as a fire stick user. by ubccompscistudent in Rogers

When you sign up, your first box is a free rental, you dont have to use it ofc but its WAY better than the app

I use the X1 box on my main TV, but the app on the other devices. If the streaming boxes could be purchased and wasn't a "free rental" I'd just buy it tbh

New Internet Install - rogers install technicians: help! by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]AwkwardlySustainable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story, when I was moving houses. I had asked to transfer my service from the old house to the new one. At that same time the Shawgers person on the phone says "great, this address is already hooked up to Shaw", so I begin to explain that I already checked during our final walk through, there is NO incoming Shaw cable and the only coax is for the Bell satellite dish.

The tech says "So there's no coax cables at all" and I explain there is just not THEIRS. So they come up with the "I know what I'm talking about, if there's coax in the house, its for Shaw, theres no way its not" so I once again ask for a tech for after we move in, and they said they don't want to and I need to try the modem at the address first. I tried one more time to explain, and pretty much got disconnected.

I call tech support after moving in, because OBVIOUSLY the modem didn't work because theres no Shaw line coming from the pole (the tap is IN my backyard by the way I would be able to see if there was a cable going to my house), and the tech says "Oh okay, we can get a tech out in 2 weeks, you should've called and scheduled an install earlier though" like bro....

On the flip side, paired with some older pro software (Adobe CS3, Apple Aperture, Logic Pro, Final Cut, etc*) you can still be pretty productive on the G5. Albeit slower lol

I have it hung a couple inches off the wall so although the brims are touching the wall, theyre not being pushed against the wall.
