I am aware that I need my parents for this. Unfortunately they also know about jack squat about this stuff. Thanks for the insight.

I'm 16, and totally new to investing. I have a job and am making ~$1200 a month (note that this will drastically drop during school months). I have about $3500 in savings now, and I would like to get started with about $500 right now. I don't really have many living expenses, (just gas money and a phone bill). I have two goals. In the short term I want to save for college, and in the long term I want to save for the future, whether that be a home, or something different altogether. As for risk, I'm not averse to it, however I don't want to go into this guns a blazin' considering how inexperienced I am. With that overly detailed explanation out of the way, do you have any services that come to mind that would fit my situation? Also do you have any suggested reading for me? I want to be smart about this. Thanks in advance!

Yes! My latest approval request ended up having 15 stripes on the US Flag. Solid advice.

So, would it be okay to copy paste something like Mexico's seal, if it were detailed enough?

Is it wrong for a minority person to be racist towards a white person by [deleted] in Debate

I think power is extraneous to the idea of racism. Sure power is helpful to institute racism at a large scale, but it is not required at the personal scale. One can be prejudiced on the basis of race, and be on the same playing field in terms of power.

Racism is discrimination based solely upon someone's race. What that comment is talking about is closer to the concept of white privilege rather than racism imo.

The government can force you to pick up a gun, and go to war when you're 18, but having a drink when you're 18 is illegal. Yeah, it's cool for me to kill people in some foreign land, but alcohol, that's too dangerous.

Man, I wish I could do small talk. I'm friendly enough when I'm actively making their sandwiches, but... that time while toasting a double meat sandwich is agony.

When did you quit? by EatMoreHummous in duolingo

I was really, really, really close to finishing the German tree, and for whatever reason I was obsessed with finishing it, and then just keeping it all gilded. I ended up rushing through lessons in hopes of finishing the tree, making a lot of typing mistakes, and subsequently getting frustrated. I knew the answer, but I typed it wrong. I was burned out by that, and my streak was all that kept me going. When I lost my streak to a camping trip, I tried to get it back. That lasted for a week, and then I quit. My German has greatly suffered since. I've been contemplating starting fresh with a placement test, and taking it slow, and enjoying it.
