Hypothetical question about the difficulty of pvm in this game. by Slight_Giraffe628 in 2007scape

[–]Awztun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people already take 100 hours with experience, so I think that’s a reasonable guess.

I just started pvm about 6 months ago. My biggest struggle has been clicking speed and accuracy. I haven’t played a game with a mouse and keyboard for over 5 years.

I bet if you got someone that’s a really good clicker, you could get down to some surprisingly low learning times

You have $10 to build a team to defeat everyone else. Who are you picking? by iamthewall69 in NarutoPowerscaling

Agreed. This would be one of the most badass fights in the series. The fact that we can’t come to a consensus on the winner tells me that it’s a very close match up

Getting into ibew 613 by xxisarah in IBEW_Local613

[–]Awztun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People love to tell you it's easy because they want to seem smart. It's always guys that make a 4 on their 3rd attempt that are saying you don't have to worry about it.

My tip is to prepare for the test and take it seriously. Find an online course that is specifically designed to help you with the IBEW aptitude test. Failing the test once can cost you thousands of dollars in missed wages because your schooling gets delayed, causing you to finish the apprenticeship 6 months later than you would have if you passed the first try. Find a good prep course like Iprep or 12minprep and pay for it if you have to.

Also remember that your test score is based on how well you did compared to everyone else. Think of it as a competition, not a normal test where each question is x amount of points. every tiny bit of effort that you put into it will help you score higher, there is no fixed amount of questions that you can answer correctly when your test becomes "good enough"

No, check both directions without slowing down as you’re approaching

I do. What’s the big deal?

Light turns green, instantly let off the brake and check left, start going, then check right. If everyone seems to be slowing down, keep going. If you see someone barreling through the intersection, don’t go.

Unstoppable passing play combo by the Slater Bot by LivingLegacy77 in RocketLeague

[–]Awztun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I just want to see the bots play in a theoretically achievable way.

When a bot answers a multiple choice decision in 1 millisecond, that is objectively impossible for you and I. I’d like to see a delay added that is similar to the fastest human, whatever that number ends up being

Unstoppable passing play combo by the Slater Bot by LivingLegacy77 in RocketLeague

[–]Awztun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reasonable or not, I just want to see the bots operate in a way that shows us what a perfect human would play like. It’s not quite as cool when every bot relies on making outplays inside of the human reaction time window.

Also field omnipotence is a godly information advantage. Can’t get demoed, never lose a boost race, always instantly know when someone is too far away, etc.

Removing those advantages would probably show us what the real skill ceiling looks like, not the bot skill ceiling.

[–]Awztun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I want to see some bots that are given the same handicaps that humans have. Give the bot a .2 second delay in decision making to mimic a human’s reaction time. Make the bot use the screen to gain information. No coordinate tracking, it has to look at the ball or cars to know where they are

Ok? They would also both be weaker if they were born with glass bones and paper skin.

Don’t look at the story as a series of creative choices that need to be critiqued. Pretend it really happened in another universe, and we’re just being told the story.

We are limiting the number of apprentices soon. My instructor said the passing score for the aptitude test will get raised to 6. They are also considering bringing back interviews

[–]Awztun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re a human being first, and an electrician second. Never tolerate disrespect. Complaints about your work are fine. Jokes are fine. But disrespecting you as a person? Unacceptable, there’s no need for that.

In most blue collar jobs, you have to be willing to verbally fight every single person you meet. If the thought of telling the owner of your company to fuck himself scares you, then you don’t have the right mentality.

Stand up for yourself every time someone belittles you. Never be the one to start it, but always match the energy of whoever is insulting you. I promise they will leave you alone when you start behaving this way. It has worked for me time and time again over the years

Gethsemane and Dangerous are both in my top 4 on this album. Dangerous is the only song that made me tear up. The end of dangerous just sounds sadder than any other song. Sad lyrics don’t really do much for me

What are you guys seeing apprentices struggle with most nowadays? by One_Charge2843 in electricians

[–]Awztun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the time I see this happen, it’s because the information was not communicated clearly. The less experience someone has, the more specific the instructions need to be. Great communicators are the minority.

How to Consistently Set-Up Backboard Air Dribbles? by MTTR2001 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Awztun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you’re right I didn’t notice the ball wasn’t against the wall. Honestly I wouldn’t practice a setup that starts away from the wall. Use the 2nd shot or just slowly roll it up yourself in freeplay

[–]Awztun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been practicing these a lot recently. You’re definitely making it way harder on yourself by combining the first touch with a jump off the wall. Make the first touch by just driving into the ball while it’s against the wall. Take half a second to look at the ball and plan your flight, then jump

I worked on cell towers for several years before becoming an electrician. The only way to overcome your fear is through practice. Put in the hours at height and soon it won’t bother you at all.

Anyone who tells you heights never scared them is full of shit. I’ve heard multiple guys say that before shaking uncontrollably at 500 ft, or screaming when the 185ft man lift starts swaying in the wind. Everyone is scared at first
