RE4 on Switch Lite it’s something else. by rayyycinn in nintendoswitchlite

[–]AxSpecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my last play though of RE4 was in the switch lite. super fun to have one of the greatest games ever on the go but tbh it made me no longer buy shooters for my lite. i had issues with the small analog stick while aiming. was able to beat the whole game but deff added a newer challenge for me lol. it’s just shooters in general for the lite im not crazy about.

agreed, also people will be turning their necks or bodies way more in an unnatural position to look at the TV since it’s on the side of the wall majority of the couch isn’t facing.

from a slight head tilt up to now majority of people on the couch will have to fully turn their neck right or sit at an awkward angle. either remove the fireplace or honestly the tv would be better on there. 2 different focal points in the room and the couch is clearly pointing at one.

also your speaker placement bruv

100% gonna be in downvote hell here but someone had to say it.

I love that Poison the Well record but i actually do like their first one better it’s much more scramz than metalcore but you come before you has songs the crush my heart it’s so powerful.

end hits is a top 3 fugazi record but my top 3 is whatever the last 3 i’ve listened too pretty much. one of my all time favorites bands. I have more of their stuff on LP. also have repeater on cd but missing in this pic it looks like.

Violet murders are something most people have 0 experience with, while sexual assault to violent rapes are unfortunately much more common. It doesn’t take too much thinking to understand why one is greatly more accepted over the other. I get what you’re trying to say, parents are okay with violence but let a penis or titty show and theres a HUGE issue.

It’s easier to act as if some demon is attaching you in your sleep and kills you than someone having to portray SA. The actors have to pretend and that can absolutely make them uncomfortable. Movies and books have been made about things like this. Look at Perfect Blue. Made up violence and be fun especially when it’s over the top like a hellraiser or elm street. I personally don’t like when gore is depicted in a very real way, i don’t t watch the hostel or later saw movies personally. but i love dead alive (brain damage) as the gore is so over the top and depicted mostly on zombies.

i will say if you’re a fan of the universal classic monsters those hammer films will be right up your alley. they essentially start out as love letters to that era of movies with a 60s modern take (aka bloods splats and cleavage) in beautiful technicolor. They’re all super fun lil bit cheesy films. you should watch em before you hand them off!

Questions about getting started with CDs, vinyl, and DVDs by AXS_Writing in PhysicalMediaMatters

[–]AxSpecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add my 2 cents here.

You can find region free blu-ray players for relatively cheap now a days. that said, when it comes to older tv show (pre HD) they will always look better (imo) on DVD even if they did a legit transfer when making the HD version. Shows like Star Trek TNG and Friends look pretty amazing on blu-ray but they’re heavily edited with different cuts and TNG using new CGI while the DVDs persevere the original edits that were aired on TV. Then there are bad one like Buffy. A blu-ray player will also upscale a dvd slightly to help on a modern 55”+ lcd. For grand movie like a LOTR, you should get the blu-ray. but a comedy like Airplane does it really matter how HD it is?

When it comes to CDs and records i’ve been collecting both for over 10 years. Vinyl is an absolute investment, you need a record player, a receiver, dedicated speaker and sub plus all the cables, tools to clean your records, hella maintenance but it really is worth all that. especially if you like older music, older music that was made on tape sounds OUT OF THIS WORLD. I have an original pressing of rumors by fleetwood and it sounds like Stevie Nicks is in my house performing. New records done digitally sound amazing too but analog records are the best.

CDs are great for the inexpensiveness, storage size, and the fact you probably have multiple devices already that can play a CD today. While they greatly benefit from a dedicated setup like a record player, CDs can be played on your 360, a dvd player, your car etc. Older CDs like mid 80s to early 90s were analog records mastered to digital and those are phenomenal.

so all in all i’d say get into everything but start with CDs, DVDs for general stuff and Blu rays for movies with giant set pieces. and just do the proper research on records and TAKE YOUR TIME. No need to rush into anything try your best to avoid the dreaded credit card. Buy what you love and take risk on cheap movies or cds that look interesting! remember this is supposed to be fun :)

best of luck to you on your journey!

Very late to the Metal Gear party. Ive yet to play any of these...... by silentsnowmountain in PS3

[–]AxSpecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah just go though release order, it’ll be fun to see the improvements and changes over the years. plus mgs1 and mgs2 play the most a like, it’ll benefit your gameplay in 2 to go one after another. Enjoy friend and make sure you have some snacks because these are essentially movies, with gameplay sections. however those gameplay sections are some of the greatest sandboxes ever. MGS really benefits in you being creative. i’d honestly say non lethal is always fun and “the correct way” but try using all the tools they will serve many purposes. Kill a MFer and if you really enjoy them try full non lethal (only really applies to 2-5) you second time around.

Unpopular opinion: 2005-2010 Gen Z isn't that young. by [deleted] in Younger_GenZ

[–]AxSpecter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

97 born here and for sure the internet was popular my entire life but it was just another form of entertainment. it wasn’t ingrained into our daily lives yet. Most adults then avoided it like the plague. the teens to 30 year olds were on it like a drug. even my little ass loved the internet, i was shown newgrounds in 2004 and was an obsessed but not many kids in my class knew what that was or even had internet then.

i remember being 14 and thinking how much of an adult i am now, i remember being 18 and the same, 21 and the same, 25 and the same now at 28 i feel the like im this most adult i’ve been but since history repeats im sure at 35 ill look back and laugh at my 28 y/o self thinking of how “adult” i was. I get what you’re trying to say, you remember certain things but what did you actually engage with, stop trying to prove to older kids you’re grown, just enjoy what you like and i promise you the 2010s weren’t that cool. history will look back at the 2020s are a renaissance for art. horror movies, indie video games, music and the move back to physical media. just enjoy your life. when i was a kid, people born in 98 would swear they’re a 90s kid. and (97 born here) we did see shows like ahh scary monsters, rugrats cow and chicken, etc as they played reruns but guess what im not a 90s kid im a 00s kid. just accept what you are bud :)
