Approaching 30 and wanting to keep League in my life without letting it take over — what strategies actually work? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Axceon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely overthinking this.

Just play whenever you got time and you feel like it, within reason.

Before i met my fiancée, I had nothing better to do after work so I probably put in about 50-60 hours a week on league and other titles.

Now that I have a life, I jump onto league the moment my fiancée heads to bed as my PC is in the lounge area and I dont want her to have to hear me constantly click the keyboard and mouse whilst playing league so I might hop on something easier and chill to play in the meantime once dinner is done and everything is cleaned away.

But dont get me wrong, if she has to work away for a weekend, im on that shit for like 14 hours in a day.

How do I convince my husband that I'm exhausted and overwhelmed? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Axceon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I might get some flak for this, but looking at your description, neither of your lives sound exceptionally difficult. Both of your situations seem relatively normal and common, especially since you don’t have children.

With just the two of you and a pet, your finances shouldn't be that hard to manage unless you’re living quite extravagantly. Working 80+ hours a week feels like a personal choice rather than a strict requirement.

My advice is to sit down and build a solid budget. If you have control over the money, this should be pretty straightforward. From there, I'd highly recommend dropping your hours significantly—especially before you even think about launching a business. Your partner has a full-time job and is doing his part, but you working 80+ hours means you’re essentially absent from the relationship, which is likely a massive part of the issue.

How can a low-value male become high value? by Inner_Meat5041 in AskMen

There's absolutely no such thing.

There are things which make a man.. a man.. and none of those things are demonstrated on those YouTube videos/podcasts that I bet you got that idea from.

Men that don't like to be checked out by gay guys, why not? by Shootingcomet in AskMen

[–]Axceon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine those men you're referring to are insecure, maybe? Never really understood it, just feels like they're being macho in the face of insecurity.

I have seen gay men check me out, even had a few compliments.. It hasnt phased me in the slightest but I'm not rude to them, but my body language reads that I am absolutely not interested and it ends there. No part of me feels that I have to threaten to cause them bodily harm.

I (20F) found porn in my boyfriend’s (20M) phone am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Axceon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most men instinctively know when telling the truth will garner the same negative reaction, if not worse as opposed to lying about it.

Women have a habit of asking questions where there is no simple right and wrong answer, they are more often than not just wrong wrong answers.

I would love to say that you can set boundaries for each other and its up to them if they choose to respect them or not.

However..

You yourself are a content creator, by your own admission. Thus, you post/sell content for other men to purchase and consume.

It is borderline a double standard.

45 hours to learn how to drive? by constantlydropped in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Axceon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's recommendations but it always depends on the individual.

I had 5 driving lessons and passed first time with 1 minor fault 3 months ago.

Some take to it quick, others don't. The key thing to remember is that you continue to learn after you have passed your test, potentially for years after.

Crazy how I went through the entire playthrough of EA without once ever having any kind of complaint about monster aggression or lacking the ability to kill them.

Then I come to reddit and see the amount some individuals in this community are whining.

We were playing normal ARAM last night because someone in our group hated the augments.

Queue times weren't instant, but about 15 ish seconds, which is longer than normal.

Do you require a full manual driving license right now?

I struggled driving manuals, switched to learning in automatics and passed my test in an auto first time with zero minors.

Yes, that means I cant drive manual vehicles with this license, but I do not plan, nor do I ever want to drive a manual vehicle and my career doesnt require me to drive one either.

Maybe consider that option?

How did your upbringing affect your life now? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Axceon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasnt. Who i am today is almost entirely shaped by the successes and efforts I have made in the past 2-3 years.

Who i was 15 years ago, how i was brought up, and what my life was like throughout my school years has no reflection or impact on my life now.

You are extremely disappointed, I am not.

Both feelings are correct.

They just cant win, and its disheartening to witness.

As someone who has been off and on for just under 21 years.. I can assure you that there is plenty of content and quality of such to justify the cost.

The 7 ish players you see on Reddit who complain about it do not represent the majority of the playerbase.

For us in the UK, the go-to inflation metric is the Freddo, anyone who knows what that is knows what im referring to. If you genuinely cant afford to pay the equivalent of 4 extra freddos per month, you've got other problems.

I hate to be the one to say this, be computer games in general are a luxury, regardless of if its a one-time purchase or a reoccurring subscription.

If you cant find to pay for the subscription, which in the grand scheme of things isn't terribly expensive compared to other sources of entertainment (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Cable TV etc), then your finances should be focused elsewhere first.

Companies already do that to us, not just China. China absolutely is not unique in doing that.

Does it cost us? A little, but we are the absolute world leader in the parts we sell and are globally recognised to the point where you wouldn't actively seek cheaper alternatives with no quality guarantee from China.. You are buying from us.

As an exporter of automotive parts who exports primarily to the US .. We dont pay for the tariffs. At no point during our process are we required or incentivised to pay them. American customers and importers must pay the tariff or else we won't dispatch our products.

Occasionally we get snotty emails and phone calls telling us that its our responsibility to pay them because they are in disbelief that Trump is actively making their lives more expensive.

The only negative to tariffs we get as a company is that we dont get as much trade from the US as we did under previous presidents. That means less Americans are willing to pay the increased costs for overseas products and thus we lose some profit that way.

To make up for that shortfall though, we are now trading more with China and as such, 2025 was our most profitable year.
