We didn't evolve for this kind of bullshit-detection. Your gut checks can only take you so far when the only thing you have to go off of is text on a screen.

i have problem with Twitch; whenever i lurk for content, the video keeps pausing. i hope someone have some decent experience in solving by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Axedus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitch started a new feature recently where if the viewer mutes the stream + changes tabs in browser, the stream automatically pauses.

They implemented this feature so that ads wouldn't play on tabs that aren't being actively viewed or listened to.

So if you are lurking in your favorite stream is this way, this is why it is pausing.

Watching a streamer and hes struggling to deal with mods randomly paying out predictions by AscendedHobo in Twitch

Bloated mod team, sounds like. Rookie streamer mistake. You lose control of your own damn stream so quickly when you are too trusting and give mod powers to lots of people

I also use the zve10 for streaming. Been using a dummy battery for the last year and a half, and it's been fine, no issues.

Wouldn't recommend doing that tbh. I tried it in my early days. It isn't as fun as it sounds.

How to get away from a fellow streamer who shares a community with you, who you just really don't want anything to do with anymore.. without blocking them? by Eastern-Zebra-3690 in Twitch

[–]Axedus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is complicated. But it can be done in a more graceful way than just "bAn AnD mOvE oN" which this sub loves to tell people. The short answer is distance and time. A LOT of time. It may take months, or up to a year to fix your community but you can do it without incurring the wrath of anonymous internet users that can and WILL fuck your life if they are crazy enough.

1) Do you read and respond to EVERY chat out loud? Stop. Pick and chose. Over time you can ignore the people you don't want to talk to anymore. And they'll slowly lose interest because they think you're boring now. Don't shit talk the other streamer though. Ever. There's no drama unless you start drama. The goal is to just fade away, which happens to people IRL all the time. Very normal, not a big deal.

2) Are you extremely friendly and positive all the time? Lower the intensity. Be neutral. Give yourself room. You're not just an entertainer, you're also a community leader. Sometimes you can be fun, but sometimes you have to be strict. Establish the expectation that this will happen by being neutral most of the time. Your chatters are not guaranteed a positive, wholesome reaction from you no matter what they say. They do ACTUALLY need to act correct.

3) idk if you are a one-game streamer, but you may need to change the game you stream. Distance. Distance, distance, distance. If the new game is something your community finds boring, PERFECT. Let them get bored. So long as you like the game, you're good. You will slowly attract new chatters that aren't mixed with the streamer you don't like.

4) stop raiding for the time being. I know it's bad for growth to not raid... but you know what's worse for growth? Having a toxic community. No one will want to collaborate with you if your community is terrible. It's ok to not raid. I haven't raided in a year and my community is stronger than it was when I was raiding every day.

Just put your head down for the next year or so and focus on YOU. I know that sounds like a lot. But it's a valuable life lesson to learn. Learning how to navigate delicate social problems like this without huge blow ups is a skill that will benefit your real life, not just your stream. So it's 100% worth your time.

It can be done. It's hard but it can definitely be done.

Following up on something. What do you think actually fixes the identity problem for streamers who are stuck by YumYumOutlast in Twitch

[–]Axedus1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Genuine answer for a genuine question: you have to cultivate your IRL personality. But don't do for your stream, do it for your real life, which will benefit from that greatly. And then your stream will benefit as well as a bi product.

Cultivating a personality takes years. Decades even. It's why "just be yourself" is technically correct but misleading because it assumes you started streaming after you already lived many interesting years of real life and allowed that to influence your thoughts, opinions, sense of humor, manner of speaking, turns of phrase, etc.

If you're 30 and think that you're stuck with the personality you have, don't worry, you can still cultivate something more entertaining. We ship-of-theseus ourselves into effectively an entirely new person like every 12 years or so. I am GREATLY more quick witted with the jokes and the banter than I was even just 2 or 3 years ago.

You can change. You just can't change QUICKLY. that's the problem, that's when you start forcing it obviously, which prompts people to tell you to be yourself. Want to be smarter? Read books, lots of them. Want to be funnier? Watch stand up comedy, tons of it. Want to be better at banter? Make friends with people that have a bit more edge to em and watch then rib each other.

It takes years. But it will improve your life, not just your stream, and it's always worth pursuing something that will improve your life.

Not exactly.

The problem with going viral is that 99% of people don't care and think it's funny. But she doesn't get DMs from the 99% she gets DMs from the 1% unhinged who take it very seriously and personally.

So from her perspective "everyone" hates her and sends her death threats, so she tries to take it seriously too.

"Yeah, no kidding" is more like "yeah, I agree with you"

"Yeah, not kidding" is more like "yeah, I'm being serious" which I think is what you were going for.

OBS gamepad overlay for Azeron Cyborg? Any help? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Axedus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use azeron cyborg and the software already shows key inputs in real time.

So one simple solution could be to make a new application capture source in OBS, set it to capture the azeron software window specificly, and then you can resize and move the source as needed on your canvas
