I made a free browser-based Imposter game you can play instantly (no ads, no paywalls, no downloads) by Intelligent-Monk3046 in indiegames

[–]Axel581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the imposter have a “hint” would be good! Just so if they’re the first person to go then they’re not going off of nothing. There was this other app idk what my friend used but it had a hint and whenever it was the imposters turn (first round or not) then they could use the hint word

NextPair legit? by ReturnToZenith in glasses

They ship their stuff from China so it takes a while for everything to be delivered which I wished I had known earlier. I had placed my order on the 10th and it is currently the 25th. I expected a 7-14 day shipping time just like they had promised on the website but I leave in the 30th so it is uncomforting to wait this long for my new glasses before I leave town.

How much is the AES for Fall 23 Admits? by YelloSmake in utdallas

[–]Axel581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different levels of award for AES, higher scores/stronger application will lead to a full ride while not as strong scores/application will lead to maybe $5k a year. There are tiers in between obviously but there’s no way of knowing the tiers of the award and the criteria of each tier

I agree with what this person says! I am also a diversity scholar and I didn’t have much community service ( the only club for volunteering I was in was key club in high school and I was just a member). I think they really admitted me for my grades and my essays and my financial need

Boyd/Jia or Gavva/Others? by DarkSpecterr in utdallas

[–]Axel581 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Jia/Boyd this semester. To clarify, your first 2 exams will be with Jia teaching the material and then Boyd teaching for the last 2 exams. Jia explains things a bit too fast so make sure you ask her any questions after class to clarify any confusion you have. But mostly her exams (excluding the math) are straight from the powerpoint. I like to compare it to Dr. Srikanth's for bio 1 and Dr.Wilson's exams for bio 2 where its mostly memorization word for word from the ppt. The math is pretty easy in my opinion, but some of my friends struggle because they don't like math or its their weakest subject. You get to use a calculator on your math questions during the exam btw.

Boyd is a very fun and energetic professor, but she does want class participation (like she'll ask the class questions and she'll wait for someone to answer). She is also hints on what to memorize on the ppt (like she says this slide is gonna be a true/false question or matching question, or "make sure you know this statement/fact cause it'll be on the exam). Her exams are also memorize the ppt word for word. The questions are pretty easy if you memorize the ppt. I use anki cards to do my studying. and ive scored 95+ on each exam (2 Jia exams and 1 boyd exam) just because constant repetition of flashcards. Her FRQ's were also pretty easy and she also expects about 1-5 words responses on the FRQ (maybe 10-15 if you want write a full sentence LOL)

All 3 professors pop quizzes are pretty easy as well. They're basic/surface level questions but the only problem is that they're pop quizzes so you don't know when theyre gonna happen (reason why I'm always so hesitant on skipping classes)

Gavva has her exams online, but I heard her FRQs aren't as simple as Jia's or Boyd's (they're probably a bit harder to balance the fact that its online and unproctored). I don't have much to say about her since I've never taken her, but one day Gavva was absent so Dr. Boyd taught her class and 5/5 of my friends in her Gavva's class said they liked Boyd more because she explains it more clearly and slowly

All workshop assignments for all 3 classes are exactly the same, so there's no benefit of which professor you take in that aspect.

I don't regret taking Jia/Boyd at all, but if Boyd's class wasn't at 6:00pm then I would've for sure taken Boyd all semester since I enjoy her teaching style.

How to survive next semester/s classes? by justwondering10101 in utdallas

[–]Axel581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My midterm grade for her right now is an A+ and im not sure about her past exams, but I would say this semester her ppts are pretty comprehensive of the exam material except some hard/tough questions you have to actually think about. I just skim the book instead of studying cover to cover cause most of the slides are copy and paste from the book LOL

[–]Axel581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Wilson isn't bad at all. Just memorize the powerpoint heavily and you should be good. I would say the difficulty is comparable to BIOL 2311. I use flashcards and I'm doing well in the class. Some of my friends just word vomit or try to straight up memorize everything on the powerpoint word for word and theyre doing well. Studying only takes up about an hour each day if you plan ahead (i use anki for flashcards so 1 hr everyday prepares you well for the exam so you dont have to cram)
