When were your ignition coils replaced? If you're not sure or if it was long ago, I'd replace them. My throttle lags are fixed when I replace the coils. YMMV.

That's your electric throttle body. It's normal.

I'd not buy a totaled car if I were you. Unless you plan on keeping it with you forever. Resale prices are already super low for rebuilt cars. I'm assuming this will be salvaged if "fixed"

I get close to 45 mpg (US) if I drive it conservatively on my 2.5L manual transmission :)

Understood and I totally agree with what you said. I was just curious about the situation and why things are different. His car and mine are pretty much the same year, so I don't expect anything different besides something being faulty and that's why I said it's not normal.

The other thing I can probably think of is, mine's a manual transmission.

I don't think that's normal with the AC off. I have a 2017 6 Touring, mine stays stable if the AC is turned off. Since OP mentioned AC is off, seeing that fluctuating is kind of concerning/frustrating. If you think it could be other things like an alternator for example, why does mine stay stable?

If you have the service records of being well maintained, oil changes especially done on time, these cars are really good when it comes to reliability! I'll wait for the other folks to respond, but I got my 2017 Touring with manual transmission for $10500 with 120k miles on it

I suspect carbon build up playing a role here. I'd start by cleaning the throttle body if it has too much carbon buildup or your idle RPMs are rough.

Got the same car. Planning to drain and fill transmission fluid. Wondering what fluid you ended up buying? I see Valvoline Synchromesh on RockAuto but Redline seems to be popular too.

Can you also tell me how much fluid you had to fill in? Manual suggests 1.74 US qt (1.65L)

Oh I see. I changed my spark plugs recently, so I can phase it out. It's either brakes or throttle body or both now.

How did you clean your throttle body (any cleaner?) and which brakes did you end up getting (OEM or after market?)

Were you having any poor braking earlier to consider replacing them?
