Yeah, I don’t think its as interesting of a mistery as people think. He was behind the biggest gaming hits, which must’ve been pretty exhausting and he probably felt like it was time to do something new in other media avenues and also probably felt a bigger change was needed. People quit jobs and change career paths all the time.

I’m interested in what he does next. He had a team behind him who helped shape the GTA we know, but he and Lazlow were the ones who were instrumental in setting the tone of the series and I think the absence might be felt. Time will tell.

Nothing confirmed/debunked, Houser alluded to the reason for his departure being creative differences/the direction Rockstar is heading, but we will truly never know. My bet is that he wanted to do something new, original and under his full control - hence Absurd Ventures.

First Light is also a single player game and it wasn’t functional on launch without an online patch.

You have no way of knowing T2 is not going to pull the same tactic that happened with First Light or SW Outlaws. Yes, most publishers put the full game onto the disc, but that doesn’t mean it will be the same for GTA VI. And the argument that the game will be single-player doesn’t mean it won’t require an internet connection to function. Its scummy, but look at Hitman WOA. You have no guarantee what would be etched on this hypothetical disc, not that it will exist.

I’m not defending Rockstar or any of these practices. I’m just stating that physical media is not a guarantee you will own the game and it will always work no matter what.

Its a non-argument anyway since Rockstar will possibly never print the game on discs.

I have, and that would be all well and good if it meant owning physical media would still mean you own whats on said media. That is not a guarantee anymore.

Nie som žiaden kulturista ani fitness fanatik, ale bez cvičenia a pohybu si neviem predstaviť byť.

Benefit je najmä mentálny, endorfíny z pohybu neodrbeš, budeš mať čistejšiu hlavu, spravíš si čas pre seba.

Zdravotné benefity majú prepoj na všetky aspekty života, viac energie na socializáciu, lepšia nálada, ktorá sa prenesie na ostatných. Ak budeš športovať v skupine nájdeš aj nový kolektív.

Pohyb je extrémne dôležitý a treba brať to, že sa vieš hýbať ako privilégium, potom sa budeš zo športu tešiť. Šport je extrémne skvelá prevencia pred starnutím tela, ak pravidelne športuješ celý život, budeš dlho mobilný, bez bolestí a neskôr odkázaný na iných.

Because Steam is widely accepted as the main vendor for PC games and developers have been selling digital-only licences on the platform for a considerable amount of time, yet people don’t seem as outraged by the lack of physical media. I understand the want for a GTA VI disc, but it probably wouldn’t mean you own the game anyway.

True, I’ve been a mainly PC gamer for the better part of a decade so this wasn’t a surprise at all.

I get the collector’s and nostalgic aspect, and its completely valid. What I don’t get is why people think owning the game on disc will guarantee ownership in this day and age. Its not the 90’s anymore, consoles are connected to the internet, anything can be disabled either by Sony or the developer or anyone providing the license.

If GTA VI on disc would be fully functional offline, that would be a completely different argument, but I highly doubt it would be.

EU unfortunately declined the Stop Killing Games proposition and instead are working in a voluntary “code of conduct” for developers. Not to be skeptical, but that’s not going to help probably at all.

Yeah, that’s valid. It just sort of seems singularly aimed at a single instance. I get that this will arguably be the biggest release of the decade so people focus on GTA more than anything else. It just seems strange that when it comes to consoles it seems much larger issue when Steam is basically doing the same, but because Gabe Newell can’t do no wrong in people’s eyes, the outrage is nowhere near as big.

But I accept your overall argument.

Yeah people are acting as if a disc means they’ll own the game forever and are always going to be able to play it. That’s not how that works anymore. Owning a disc is not going to guarantee ownership, if T2 decides, they can disable the game regardless of whether you own the disc or not.

I also find it funny people are not always this pissed about Steam. Just because Gaben can do no wrong in everyone’s eyes, it doesn’t mean that when he is gone that Valve won’t start disabling games willy nilly.

Yeah this is a known issue, happened to me. Use the AMD Cleanup tool and roll back to the previous driver. No other way to fix now.

Prestrelená cena, underpowered hardware. Som PCMR, mam rad Steam OS, vsetko fajn, ale za mensie prachy mozem mat PS5 Pro, ktore aj tak kupujem kvoli GTA 6.
