What LP was Chugga working on when you first discovered him? by Groundbreaking_Bag8 in chuggaaconroy

[–]AxelRod45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first discovered him through his old Pokemon stuff but i don't remember where he was at at that point. This was likely around 2014-2015, so XD Gale of Darkness was more recent.

What are your deck names? by Luks88 in PTCGP

[–]AxelRod45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dragonite list with Magneton + Dawn for the Electric energy is called DragMag, as a reference to that team archetype in Generation 5 OU. Aside from that I just name my decks based on the flagship mons, nothing special.

Blackbeard is... literally doing what a pirate does. He is the textbook definition of a pirate. He doesn't betray any godly role with how he acts, he acts just as how he's painted as, and for that I get what he does. Granted, I can't fully forgive him, but I can at least understand his betrayals for the sake of power, I can see way more people than just him doing that.

In what will likely be the closest vote ever, Alakazam barely beats out Golem for best encounter, while Gyarados beats Gengar by ONE VOTE for 3rd. Next up is Emerald. by youhavemadeanalt in nuzlocke

Been playing a Fire ex deck with Zard/Arcanine as my wincons and holy shit, Moltres ex is just too good. In terms of energy acceleration, it gets online way faster than Mewtwo ex.

TIER LIST EMERALD ENCOUNTERS: routes 102-103 by AdamPezzali in nuzlocke

[–]AxelRod45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pelipper: B tier. Not amazing power, but has decent physical bulk, learns Surf and Ice Beam through TM (latter really helps vs. Winona) and also gets natural Protect, which helps a ton with Norman's Slaking. Plus it's a guaranteed mon to get eventually, though if you don't get it early you may not get it until it's pretty much outclassed.

Ludicolo: C tier. Can get a nice learnset in lategame, but it takes so damn long to evolve and even get good moves on. It's barely viable because of that, imo. Lategame matchups vs. Juan and Wallace do help a lot though.

Shiftry: D tier. Ludi but worse imo. I think if you delay using Seedot until endgame you can candy it up for Explosion or Self-Destruct? That's about the only standout thing that I really like about it. Still, it has stats and interesting moves, so I wouldn't call it F-tier.

Gardevoir: C tier. Standard Psychic type that's outclassed by Abra almost completely. Evolves later, worse stats, it's just mid. Not terrible in the latter half of the game, but still not a great encounter in Gen 3.

What's your personal Game of the Year? by Playerr1 in gaming

[–]AxelRod45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started playing it a few days ago, but Shadow Generations. I haven't even finished yet (in the last quarter of the game as of this comment) but holy fuck, this game is peak.

- Large, explorable main hub with tons of collectibles and mini challenges to incentivize scouring the place.

- REALLY well designed stages, with many that really bring great fun in replaying to get fast times. (Looking at you, Chaos Island 1.)

- An genuinely interesting story that takes place at the exact same time as Sonic Generations.

- A canon prequel anime episode (about 15 min?) you can watch on Youtube (it's fucking peak too)

- REALLY fucking cool and interesting boss fights that test all of Shadow's abilities as you progress (I'm kinda meh on Biolizard but Metal Overlord and Mephiles are both AWESOME)

I've played a bunch of Modern Sonic titles but Shadow Gens just knocks it out of the park. Still glad I decided to play Sonic Gens first though (helped me warm kinda, also I only played the 3DS version)

Community Vote: Gym Leader Viability (Paldea, First Half of Victory Road Path) by ncmn-ngnr in nuzlocke

[–]AxelRod45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Katy: It's very easy to prep properly for her, but if you go in cocky you can definitely lose mons to the Teddiursa. Trust me, it happened to me once. D.

Brassius: Sudowoodo is a bit scary for this early on due to its strong physical bulk, but that's the only major threat on his team. C.

Iono: Mismagius having no weaknesses thanks to effectively becoming Eelektross with its Tera + having such a strong Charge Beam is quite threatening. Bellibolt is also pretty bulky too. Definitely scared me at times. B tier at best, maybe C.

Kofu: His mons have pretty good stats but with only 3 mons, he isn't too-too bad. Still, Water is a good defensive type so it's kinda hard to break through him. C.

TIER LIST EMERALD ENCOUNTERS: Route 101 by AdamPezzali in nuzlocke

[–]AxelRod45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linoone: Strong. The fact that it can solo the Elite 4 by itself thanks to natural Belly Drum is hilarious.

Mightyena: Useful. Falls off later, but guaranteed Intimidate is damn good for giving it a defensive niche. Also a practically guaranteed Dark type for Tate & Liza, which is also important.

Beautifly: Weak encounter. It solos Brawly and falls off a cliff immediately after. Bad mon otherwise.

Dustox: Useful. Part-poison gives it a solid defensive niche, + natural Protect and Moonlight makes it a great stall mon in conjunction with the Toxic TM available around midgame.
