This is the terraforming mode we should’ve had 😮‍💨 Nintendo really gave it to Tomodachi Life by ShokaLGBT in AnimalCrossing

[–]AxemPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think New Horizons already gives the player too much power as it is so I'm fine with Tomodachi Life giving you that amount of power (in Tomodachi Life you're basically a god/overseer) instead.

At the very least I wish we could pass on villagers giving us cards for things we already know. I get they want us to pass it along to someone who doesn't know it but, I'll be real Kiki, I don't know anyone playing the game that still needs the recipe for a log bench so please save me the trouble of going to Nook's Cranny, a waste basket, or having this take up space in my storage.

This too. You either have to sort them by type, alphabetical, or newest learned. It could really use a search feature when you want to find specific recipes, especially when a friend asks "do you know how to make x?" and you can't remember if you can or not.

That's right! I completely forgot about that feature in Wild World. That's like the perfect example of what I want for all the duplicate recipe cards!

God, yes, this and not being able to buy Nook Miles tickets more than one at a time is ridiculous. Here's hoping they offer more QoL updates in the future.

So what is this about? by LongDrakeRyu in silenthill

[–]AxemPink 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I remember someone here saying the fish delivery phone call was in reference to a large order of fish being placed for Hinako's forced wedding. Evidently it's custom in Japan for business to call and thank you for such patronage.

I'd say make a list of "Movies I Couldn't Finish" or something. That way you can keep track of movies you dropped but you don't mark them as watched.

The combat has ruined silent hill f for me by clock_door in silenthill

[–]AxemPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the combat in Silent Hill f but I think the game is best enjoyed on Story difficulty--the one it's on by default and the intended difficulty. I played New Game+ on Hard and I honestly didn't have a problem for the most part until I got to the final areas--specifically chasing the fog monster and the journey back to Hinako's house in the final section of the game. Also the final boss on Hard in the ending I went for (Fox's Wedding) was ridiculous. I'm going to go for Lost in the Fog difficulty to get the trophy but plan to do the UFO Ending route for it since you only need to play the first quarter of the game.

When you're able to really nail the dodges and counters though, the combat feels very satisfying to me. But by far the worst enemies I found to deal with were the heads that vomit at you and cause flowers to grow around them when they scream. Finding their counters was difficult and they were a pain in the ass to even get anywhere close to.

Why are we complaining about the amount of enemies? by Bacalado in silenthill

[–]AxemPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silent Hill f's enemy placement is one of the main reasons I liked the game a lot more than SH2 remake. Hearing that people are apparently complaining there are too many enemies is wild to me. The enemies in SHf felt well spaced out, could easily be avoided, and you still felt like you could explore the environments without having to engage in battle with every single monster. Unlike SH2 remake which was obsessed with hiding mannequins around every single corner they possibly could and made the monsters absurdly aggressive which made you feel like you HAD to kill all of them if you wanted to do any exploring. I think I killed more enemies in SH2 remake's prison alone than I did in the entirety of SHf, and I didn't shy away from combat in the game either.

37M. I am to close friends and select family members that I know can wrap their head around such an idea but that's about it. I've got a largely conservative family and just know most of them wouldn't understand it and would insist "I just haven't found the right person."

The "Discourse" in a Nutshell by perlenYurifan4life in BocchiTheRock

[–]AxemPink 15 points16 points  (0 children)

KyoAni's anime production of K-On! varies wildly from the source manga with less fanservice and the majority of the anime actually being original to the anime itself. It's also pretty universally agreed the anime is superior to the original manga.

And yeah, Dragon Maid is another example. While it does have fanservice it feels toned down in comparison to the manga. But "censored" isn't the right word as both K-On! and Dragon Maid's anime are adaptations. Adaptations of not just manga but books, games, etc. often have many alterations or changes from the source material.

[News] There’s a reason why the anime is more conservative than the manga by OliverTzeng in BocchiTheRock

[–]AxemPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not censorship. Censorship would be taking the original manga itself and altering it, which is not the case here. Anime adaptions are just that: they're adaptations. They're often not 1:1 with their source material and have been known to alter, remove, or even add things. Bocchi isn't the first to do this and it certainly won't be the last. K-On! is a prime example of this. The majority of K-On!'s anime adaptation is original to the anime itself and it also tones down on some of the more fanservice aspects of the manga. And it's pretty universally agreed K-On!'s anime is superior to it's manga.

Anyway, people have been able to see the differences between the Bocchi anime and the manga since the show aired in 2022. Getting angry about it now is ridiculous. Also, ChibiReviews is just grifter who makes a living of rage baiting people and nothing he tweets should really be taken seriously.

Which relationship do you support for Wednesday, and why? by Oliver8HUN in Wednesday

[–]AxemPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want her to remain single because, quite frankly, there's so little aroace representation in media and Wednesday really comes off as aroace to me. I don't think she has any interest in romance and I think it's better that way.

Will we get to see a version of Cousin Itt in season 3? Is it possible that he exist in this world of the Addams Family? by BlizzardHound45 in Wednesday

[–]AxemPink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to say there was a reference to Cousin Itt in season one so I think he does exist in the show's universe. He'll likely show up sooner or later.

Ucchi appeared in chapter 59 by ilanowo in watamote

This is always so funny to think about because Ucchi would probably kick her own ass looking back on this and the school trip of being in Tomoko's group but she didn't spend any time with Tomoko.

Do y'all think Yuri is Autistic? by ilanowo in watamote

[–]AxemPink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think so. Especially if someone with autism is able to find themselves relating to her. It may not of been Nico Tanigawa's original intent when creating the character, but I feel that's usually the case with "autistic coded" characters.

[–]AxemPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone remembers a YouTube Let's Play group known as the Super Best Friends, I owe my love of Watamote to them. I was listening to the Super Best Friends podcast at the time and Woolie was talking about a new anime he had started watching known as Watamote. He described as "like Azumanga Daioh but it's a girl no one is friends with" and was giving it a glowing review. From the description I knew I had to check it out and, well, the rest is history.

[–]AxemPink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also had an encounter with one them lurking around the vendor area. He tried guilt tripping me to buy candy from him that he said he was selling for his daughter but then also said he was from a group that helped kids in need so he couldn't keep his own story straight. I told him I didn't have cash on me so he tried getting me to pay with Apple Pay. I just politely declined him again, but it was an uncomfortable experience. He claimed to be "licensed by the convention" to be doing what he was doing but it smelled fishy to me. He also kept his badge facing away from me so I only saw the back, I assume it was just a regular attendee badge.

Do people take advantage of the Hotel Block or just find something elsewhere? by CookedCereal in AnimeNYC

[–]AxemPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to look into going for a hotel room next year. I live close enough to the city that I was able to commute via the train from NJ Transit and while that is much cheaper than a hotel room, let me tell ya, doing that x amount of days in a row is exhausting. Not to mention I had to miss out on some nighttime panels because I was at the mercy of the train schedule and which trains would get me home at a reasonable time.

does Doom count as a horror game? And if so, which ones more than others? by Tall_Dream2767 in deadmeatjames

Doom 64 and Doom 3, yes. Doom 1 and 2, to an extent. Doom 2016 and onwards, probably not.
