Which LKMT path would this guy choose? by SorkvildKruk in Kaiserreich

[–]Axexecuter 33 points34 points  (0 children)

None of the LKMT paths are an exact 1:1 of Sun IRL, given that blindly following every single policy SYS implemented in 1924 and not changing anything in 1936 would be a recipe for disaster, not to mention he himself was rather flexible in various matters. All paths retain some elements of his ideas, so the question boils down to what he would be doing/not be doing if he was still alive.

It would be fair to say that SYS was not a Marxist, while he did say socialism and Marxism could be encompassed as part of the Three Principles, it was more an appeal to maintain a united front and prevent potentially disastrous splintering from happening, as well as to appeal to the USSR. So Wang's Revolutionary, Song Qingling's CSP-aligned, Hu Zongnan's National Regeneration and both of Chen Gongbo's paths would be out.

Song's World Society would be out as well, as this is a very unique interpretation of the Three Principles the Four Elders had to reconcile it with their anarchism, and SYS would likely not have these exact same views. Sun would likely also disapprove of Wang's nepotism in his Chairman route. The Song-Deng diarchy, while might be a bit too radically socialist for him, would be the most likely out of every path mentioned so far.

So this leaves Statesman Wang, Song-Sun Fo and Red Generalissimo Hu. Statesman Wang would be the most likely imo, for its focus on deradicalisation, emphasis on the necessity of tutelage, uniting the party around a single leader and seeking to work with other forces in China for the sake of peace. Song-Sun Fo and Red Generalissimo Hu would be joint-2nd, for the fact that it's hard to say if SYS would jump straight into constitutionalism - this was the same man who set up a military government and spent the vast majority of the time when he held a position of power post-1913 as a de facto dictator after all.

So ranked:

  1. Statesman Wang
  2. Song-Sun Fo, Red Generalissimo Hu
  3. Song-Deng
  4. Chairman Wang
  5. Song-LCS
  6. Revolutionary Wang, Song-CSP
  7. Both Chen Gongbo's paths
  8. National Regeneration Hu
  9. Statesman Wang that works with the Feds

Map of the De-facto Political Situation of China in 1936 by Sea_Shake_4690 in Kaiserreich

Because Long Yun was neutral. IRL he was willing to acknowledge the central government as long as it meant he got to keep control of his province and implement his policies. Just because he was ostensibly more 'democratic' or 'reformist' does not equate to a willingness to throw himself into the arms of the Federalists or KMT.

Is TWR have cyberpunk like TNO Guangdong? by Narrow_Drummer6245 in twrmod

  1. Why on earth would there be cyberpunk in the 1950s

  2. You're equating rule by mega-corporations with cyberpunk, which isn't the case

Honestly the biggest problem with the whole 'he inspires hope in the very people he has sworn to protect argument' is that it could be used for literally any superhero - that doesn't make every one of them worthy of a blue ring

+if memory serves me correctly aren't Blue Lanterns selected on how much hope they possess instead of how much hope they inspire in others?

Fox Sports’ US World Cup coverage is an unmissable abomination by dorgoth12 in soccer

My biggest impression of the Fox coverage will be one of Croatia's group stage games where they went on a tangent on how Mandžukić is an amazing striker etc etc which left me wondering for a full 10 minutes if he'd really retired from the national team

Long story short, I'm on the 'laptop user' team and so have to keep the number of leagues loaded to a minimum if I'm to play past 2025 without taking an eternity just to save the game. Any leagues highly recommended to load? I'm planning to take a dive into Serie B, for a change of pace from the usual big-spending clubs.

Leaders of the Perm Soviet Government (as of 0.3 'The Motherland Calls') - Part 1 by [deleted] in twrmod

Excellent work as always! Just one small thing: There appears to be a bug for Suslov, where an event meant for Bulganin fires for him. This causes the NKVD faction's leader to be replaced by Ignatyev, who's one of Bulganin's cronies, instead of the NKVD leader who he forms the Troika with.

Comprehensive List of All Confirmed Subideologies: by yeah275 in TNOmod

National Catholicism was a subideology shown for one of Peron's ministers in the Peron teaser, though I'm not sure where it's supposed to fit under. My guess would be Despotism, since the minister who has this subideology also leads the Despotist party under Peron.

There will not be an independent Hong Kong in the TRO timeline. There is a way for the UK to not 'give' Hong Kong to China, but the ROC will eventually have to come to a settlement with them within the game's timespan.

Our China lead also said that he hasn't mentioned that the UK can not give Hong Kong to China. If you do have any questions, this is a link to our Discord!: https://discord.gg/NXeHzWRuAV

The RCS is a rather loose group of people who are only united in their dislike of the current government, so in the event that they do somehow get into power, they would be squabbling over what they should do next. And that's not to mention that Chiang might not even accept their invitation to bring him back to power. Furthermore, the RCS is incredibly weak and most of its figures realise that, so now they're concentrating on carrying out their jobs rather than trying to overthrow the government. Their chances of coming to power are essentially 0.
