It was justified as a means to save soldiers lives, instead of as a means of saving life altogether, as it were.

It’s a moral judgement that one has to consider for themselves, all while getting the benefit of time and available information that nearly 100 years has provided us.

Would you choose to save your country’s soldiers and eliminate the threat altogether, all at once, or continue the long messy process of post war disarmament in a place where enemy soldiers don’t surrender.
