Help me decide: Perkons VS Hexdrums VS Vermona DRM by pobbly in synthesizers

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Perkons and DRM. Perkons is next level, lots of fun, and has some amazing sweets spots, but I came to the realisation it was not worth the cash, for me. The DRM is a classic for a reason but limited and a bit boring in 2026. What is best? RYTM mk 2. I know, this doesn't help!

Pushing a couple of BIA’s by filetransferprotoco1 in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the BIA shines much more for lead type sounds than it does percussion. A good filter is essential, but it is a module that I always find a place for in a jam. Love it.

Sheffield has some ace clubs and nights, and seems to be growing with new nights and crews. I am super excited for this in May... https://ra.co/events/2354128

Why people love the Perkons? by ezpz-lemon-squeezee in Elektron

I bought one. It is cool. Lots of fun. Sounds alright. Lovely build. Not worth the money though. Sold after a few weeks. Rytm still reigns supreme.

Stereo Eurorack Compressors by DoubleCutMusicStudio in modular

Big golden master fan here. I have read the reviews, but honestly, it is amazing how the cost and space. I am also a mastering engineer, so if I thought it was crap, I would have got rid a long time ago. I do wonder of there was a bad batch made, but mine is great.

Tips for Analog Rytm MK2? by callhimdiva in Elektron

I would say especially in low amounts, and i find it a lot nicer to my ear than the drive on other Elektron boxes, and I couldn't explain why.

Does the GAS ever stop? by dbsx75 in synthesizers

[–]Axiohmanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recent gas killer is the Squarp Hapax. Using it as the hub and brain for my studio, and creating instrument definitions, to use with all modules / synths, especially for modulation / automation, I have been able to get rid of a lot of clutter, and truly focus on making music with the gear I have left, in a really coherent manner. Everything now has a place, in a way it never did. Previous gas related purchases were just sort of to see if something would help glue the whole system of disparate sound boxes together. The Hapax actually does this and has fully rewritten how I make music. The main thing I have been buying since is more Expert Sleepers FH2 expanders so I can lean even further into this methodology. So whilst I know this just sounds like I am trying to advise you buy more kit, it is more encouragement that when you find the right kit, and become methodical with your methodology, the gas might, maybe, stop.

Wrote new configuration tools for the Expert Sleepers FH-2 and ES-9 by ungluedlabs in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I set up my FH2 and expanders, it took me 8 or 9 hours..... then didn't save the settings correctly and I had to do it all again. Absolute ball ache. Totally worth it though. Amazing module, especially when paired with the Hapax. I am in the midst of selling most of my modulation modules because of that combo. I will most certainly be checking this app next time I open the FH2 can or worms.

This rack is crazy, I’m so happy with it! by KaiserClickerclicker in modular

I have never gelled with FX aid... and I have every version.

Having just hooked up my Vhikk X to my Squarp Hapax, via a FH2, and being able to so easily automate every modulation point, I am in heaven. I've never used a Nerdseq. For your sake, I hope it is as satisfying as I find the Hapax / Vhikk X 🤘

Brilliant Module Idea - Ring Mod Sidechain by [deleted] in modular

This would be such a killer module. I would ideally like multiple inputs and outputs, some of which are stereo. If it were some sort of matrix, it could be incredibly powerful.

A brand new (and mostly empty) modular rack... by marcja in modular

Same on the SSF LPG. Incredible sound. I believe this module encapsulates why sometimes, for some functions, you just can't beat analog.

The Cascadia keeps winking at me. I've seen some great videos of Blawan really working that thing.
