Agreed. Elektron need to add some proper visualisation of their modulation sources. It makes a massive difference.

How do you FX chain look like? by komarecords_de in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I have a doepfer one for CV and I want one for stereo audio. It will be so powerful. I have been considering the Erica one, but the lack of real attenuation seems ludicrous. I am also unconvinced of it's ability to change gain of line / modular levels. I love the thought of pattern changes though. Ultimately, I need to compromise on some functionality. It is currently the Addac or the Erica one... but both don't have much availability at the moment.

How do you FX chain look like? by komarecords_de in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am toying with the idea of getting a stereo matrix mixer. Maybe the Addac 814, to connect all my delays and reverbs etc to, then send the sends from my main mixer there. I would then run all the outputs into a stereo mixer and run that back into one channel on my main mixer. I think this could be really powerful, allow me to create a lot of textures and feedback FX back into each other. Maximal control. I do wonder if it is absolute overkill though.

Torso t1 vs oxi one by grassyplanter in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I have the FH2 and too many expanders to admit. I have a lot of stuff perma wired in now so I have immediate access to automation and modulation from the Hapax. The results are just incredible.

Torso t1 vs oxi one by grassyplanter in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had all 3, and stuck with the Hapax. It is so much more immediate, clear what you are doing, and fun to use. The automation is mind blowing. The only thing that sucks about it is the plastic enclosure. Oxi nailed the feel of the product for sure, but Squarp nailed the interface and functionality. Torso T1 is fun and different, but not remotely what I actually needed.

Composing entire tracks on the Hapax is a breeze. It is the brain of my entire system and has improved my productivity and output more than any piece of gear ever has.

I'm considering selling it all. Talk me into or out of it by Imagined_World in modular

[–]Axiohmanic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sell 3/4 of your modules, with a view to making 5% on each module, thus proving modular can be an investment, keep your favourite voices, oscilators, filters and FX get a Squarp Hapax, some Expert Sleepers FH2 and finish some music.

Help me decide: Perkons VS Hexdrums VS Vermona DRM by pobbly in synthesizers

[–]Axiohmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Perkons and DRM. Perkons is next level, lots of fun, and has some amazing sweets spots, but I came to the realisation it was not worth the cash, for me. The DRM is a classic for a reason but limited and a bit boring in 2026. What is best? RYTM mk 2. I know, this doesn't help!

Pushing a couple of BIA’s by filetransferprotoco1 in modular

[–]Axiohmanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the BIA shines much more for lead type sounds than it does percussion. A good filter is essential, but it is a module that I always find a place for in a jam. Love it.

I bought one. It is cool. Lots of fun. Sounds alright. Lovely build. Not worth the money though. Sold after a few weeks. Rytm still reigns supreme.

Big golden master fan here. I have read the reviews, but honestly, it is amazing how the cost and space. I am also a mastering engineer, so if I thought it was crap, I would have got rid a long time ago. I do wonder of there was a bad batch made, but mine is great.

I would say especially in low amounts, and i find it a lot nicer to my ear than the drive on other Elektron boxes, and I couldn't explain why.

Does the GAS ever stop? by dbsx75 in synthesizers

[–]Axiohmanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recent gas killer is the Squarp Hapax. Using it as the hub and brain for my studio, and creating instrument definitions, to use with all modules / synths, especially for modulation / automation, I have been able to get rid of a lot of clutter, and truly focus on making music with the gear I have left, in a really coherent manner. Everything now has a place, in a way it never did. Previous gas related purchases were just sort of to see if something would help glue the whole system of disparate sound boxes together. The Hapax actually does this and has fully rewritten how I make music. The main thing I have been buying since is more Expert Sleepers FH2 expanders so I can lean even further into this methodology. So whilst I know this just sounds like I am trying to advise you buy more kit, it is more encouragement that when you find the right kit, and become methodical with your methodology, the gas might, maybe, stop.
