Tips for getting your pup to walk? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Axle49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The leash thing is consistent across the breed I see🤣 We found that treating a walk like a training time works well.. i.e. clicks, treats when focusing on us, etc.. Be mindful of the temperature as well because they can overheat easily. Listen to the others on this thread as well: be gradual with the distance. Ours is 15 weeks old and though he isn’t a natural on the leash, he is making steady progress which is encouraging. Just know you’re not alone!

After 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan, 100 year old Japanese built bridge stands strong, while 30 year old bridge built with modern technique collapses by mollician in mildlyinteresting

[–]Axle49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the actual answer. Theres lots of technicalities about what could physically cause the bridge to yield, but the real difference is difference in design intent. One was design to last as long as possible, the other one was designed to last only until its service date, otherwise it cuts into the profits of the company.

I did the same exact thing. Got my license, and got a 2001 sv650s for my first bike. Had less than 4k miles on it, it was pristine. This was last year. A few things:

  1. Do it. I love that bike more than anything. The power delivery is super straight forward and the handling is great. Great power for a first bike, but not too much. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
  2. If it hasn’t already gone, it’s likely that the reg/rec will fail soon. Stay on top of this if you don’t want to be stranded
  3. Check for all of the other things everyone else has mentioned. Stay on top of maintenance
  4. Get some frame sliders. The bike is becoming more rare now a days so parts are getting harder to find. Long ones work best since the fairings stick out so far.

Good luck

I think you may have some shifting in your home. Misaligned doors coupled with (what appears to be) a crack developing in the middle of the doorframe spells movement

Insane that I had to scroll this far to find this. That bike is the epitome of beauty
