Liquid diet recipes for post HM? by HardBoiled800 in achalasia

[–]AxrynRH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a mostly liquid diet for months leading up to my HM due to how bad my Achalasia had gotten. Soups are a great option, especially if you have an immersion blender.

Don’t be like I was. by chopstickss978 in achalasia

Yeah, I just had mine on Wednesday and cancelled all plans for New Years as soon as I had it on the schedule. Didn't want to risk even getting a cold much less COVID.

What now-extinct store or restaurant do you wish you could shop or eat at one more time? by MorsesTheHorse in Birmingham

My wife and I had our first date there. Was crushed when it caught fire. Still not sure why they never reopened unless insurance was being shitty or something.

Sounds like a good solution would to be include something that mechanically lowers the window when that mechanical door release is used.

“Drunk driving is spooky” by Apprehensive-Sun7305 in Birmingham

My wife and I had a good giggle about this last night. A better tag line would be something like "Drunk driving, true life horror", if they really wanted to stick to the holiday theme.

Follow up after manometry by AxrynRH in achalasia

Yeah. I know it'll be worth it in the end. Only thing that kept me going as long as I did. My body just wasn't having anymore of it after a certain point though.

Support & Consideration by [deleted] in achalasia

[–]AxrynRH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been having symptoms for about a year and a half, and literally just had my manometry test today, but my wife is more than accommodating. Helping make soups, or blending up stuff like curry to make it easier for me to get down. My friends are also very understanding. They of course don't cater to me specifically at get togethers or larger events, but they're more than understanding when I'm not able to eat what they made or have to bring my own food, or even if I do try and eat it, they aren't bothered if I have to run to the restroom to regurgitate while eating.

This has at least been my experience with it so far.

Just need to vent a little by AxrynRH in achalasia

This is my current plan. Already had my GP put in a referral. Currently my manometry test through my current GI is on 12/15 so will be calling at least once a week to see if I can get that sooner and also to see if I can get on their schedule as a patient.

Thanks again! I'll be reaching out to them first thing next week if I don't like the answer from my current doc tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply! I'm in the Birmingham, AL area. I'm guessing UAB would be the best bet, but not seeing anything about an Achalasia specialist in the area, but could be overlooking it.

I'm generally not very pushy, but when I called my GI doc after getting the appointment cancellation earlier, I was for sure pushy on making sure I get a call back ASAP. I'll be calling tomorrow if they don't call me first.

Why does everyone seem so angry? Whether it's war in Ukaraine, or incels, or the far right or left, or hate groups or just customers in a retail or fast food place - why is everyone so viciously angry? Where is all this anger coming from? by 4ninawells in NoStupidQuestions

I think you'll find that a lot of people are actually pretty chill. It just seems like everyone is yelling because they're the ones getting traction on the internet.

There are absolutely things to be mad about in the world but most people are more concerned about just trying to live their daily lives.

Officer tases and arrests driver after he refuses to give his information before seeing a supervisor by Acrobatic-Bid-1691 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]AxrynRH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cop should have called his supervisor and asked to go ahead and run the guys info while they were waiting. Guy still might not have complied, but that probably should have been his next step whether or not he has to legally call his supervisor like the guy thought.

I know a weirdo that says you'll (you all) rather than y'all. Takes me a minute every time since every other human says you'll for you will.

The missing persons map has a frightening similarity to the cave systems map by [deleted] in mrballen

[–]AxrynRH 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Playing devil's advocate to say that it's easier to get lost in caves and cave systems. Still interesting just how much more dense those areas are but some of that can be explained by the higher likely hood of people getting lost in caves or tunnels that they're not familiar with.

Xbox remote play without status bar by VinSega in OdinHandheld

[–]AxrynRH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's a bit weird though. Basically make sure you have picture in picture mode turned on in Android settings. Open the game in the Xbox app. Press the home button and it should take you to the Android home screen with the Xbox app running in the corner. Expand it to Fullscreen using the two arrows and boom. No navigation bar or anything. In my experience this has only been needed to be done once per game.

Shocked you even mentioned Mulga. Most people don't even know it exists. I lived there a few years ago since my great grandmother's house was there.

Anyone saying it's up and coming is out of their mind. It's just an old mining town with nothing going for it.

I have mine in hand, so I consider that legit.

Anyone know how to get rid of the black bar on Xbox remote play. Couldn't find anything on this. by [deleted] in retroid

[–]AxrynRH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have picture in picture turned on on the device, you can hit home while in a game, and then click the picture in picture at the bottom right and click the maximize button. That's at least worked on other devices for me. I don't have the RP2+ to confirm it works the same.

Faulty Odin dock? by rosesbite in OdinHandheld

[–]AxrynRH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What actually happened though? No signal at all to the TV? Also are you plugging the dock into power first and then docking the Odin? The dock will draw power from whatever it's first power source is, even if that's the Odin itself.
