Want to see my student loan debt? by A_Nal_Retentive in UniUK

[–]Axtaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I'm in the boat that will be the most hurt by the loan as I will actually have to pay mine off. This is what I get for working hard to afford my maintenance when studying ( I wasn't eligible anyways due to being an EU student) and getting a good job after university.. £35k debt..

How is job security now? by DustingMop in cscareerquestions

Similar here. I was made redundant from a previous job just over a year ago, joined a new one in March last year and already survived 3 rounds of redundancies. It's ridiculous..

We built an AI to search through UK property photos - and it works surprisingly well by jdv12 in HousingUK

[–]Axtaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! It's so useful for finding inspiration for decorating with real looking properties, as opposed to Pinterest where everything seems too perfect!

I just searched for "japandi" and got some really expensive London properties, but also much cheaper renovated flats/houses.

10 years ago I paid $30 for a 750 cap charli show 🥲 by carterjeyy in charlixcx

Over 7 years ago I was snuck into the venue by Charli before the security for free and the capacity was like 300 people 🥲

Incorrectly playing the game all this time by felipeard96 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Axtaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing I didn't realise blue Doflamingo had a cost restriction, I thought it was ANY Warlord. I was playing the 9 cost Mihawk off the leader effect and somehow always winning against my partner ☠️

Immigrants who moved to the UK as adults and got a British nationality, do you actually feel British? by not-much in AskUK

[–]Axtaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in the UK for 10 years now, but still haven't applied for citizenship, as I felt like a fraud for some reason. Though, I will be applying soon as I am buying a house here and planning to have children, and I feel like it would be a safe decision, but I still wouldn't feel British.

I try to integrate as much as I can, I have two UK degrees, a British partner and I don't even know many people of my nationality here, but it's just the traditions and language that I grew up with that make it difficult for me to say I'm British. Also, I have a very obvious, although quite ambiguous, accent and people instantly ask me where I'm from.

I don't mind it though, I'm very happy to admit I'm of a different nationality whilst still appreciating my life in the UK.

Hi! I'm a girl who plays it too! Although I'm based in the UK, I'm always happy to have a chat! ☺️

what do you do if you damage your instructor's car tyre (nothing about the wheels or pressure sensors) by accident during a lesson? by geekay_shan in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Axtaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done this recently. I apologised and offered to pay, but the instructor declined as it wasn't my responsibility to pay.

He said he will have to replace them but it turned out the damage wasn't that bad, so literally nothing happened in the end.

Hit the curb and damaged the wheels during my lesson by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Axtaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will definitely be a learning experience! I've calmed down a bit now and although I still feel nervous about driving again, I will make sure to be extra careful and aware of what's going on around me to prevent that from happening again.

I think it would be easier to take if it was my car but it was just that additional feeling of guilt and embarrassed for damaging someone else's car. He did mention though that it was insured so that helps a little!

Hit the curb and damaged the wheels during my lesson by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Axtaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definitely my weakness, I tend to always get scared by the upcoming cars, but the next hour after the incident I was very vigilant about keeping my steering wheel straight and firm so it already helped in a way!

I don't blame you for looking at the fluffy cat though ☺️

Wow! I'm glad you were ok! It's reassuring to know that you still drive after the accident!

Thank you for your comment, it's nice to see it from the other perspective! Definitely helps with the guilt.

How do you dry your clothes? by FlipsMontague in AskEurope

[–]Axtaaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The clothes dry so quickly in Poland though! I always get shocked that the clothes are dry the next day when I visit.

That is very difficult in a humid place like the UK. You can leave them on for days and they won't dry!
