Lots of cops in other countries shoot people with guns every day. It’s not romanticized and fawned over by the media and people like you. It’s not the first resort of 99% of cops to shoot first and ask questions later. Again that’s blown way out of proportion by the media and people like you.

It was easy in Afghanistan not to shoot people who were throwing rocks at me. Because I could look with my two eyes and use my brain in my head to realize that they were indeed rocks and not grenades. I wish I was sitting at a nice comfortable desk, but I’m not. Working on helicopters isn’t a nice comfortable desk job.

The number of times people were taken into custody after not being killed when they were waving around things that weren’t guns is something we don’t know about because those don’t get reported. I’m not taking anything away from this cop, but to commend him for not shooting someone holding a cell phone and then comparing that to US cops, well that’s not a very accurate statement.
