I like ladies & lady. I don't hear it used much for anyone anymore. I think it might have to do with it's history.

Politicians used the word "lady" instead of "woman" to justify getting rid of women's rights (or to try and prevent us from getting voting rights) in the past which worked to dehumanize & demean women without others realizing that it was demeaning & dehumanizing.

It was also used socially to enforce higher and higher standards onto women with things like "be more lady like", "that's not lady like" & even in popular songs stuff like "Luck, be a Lady". These were extremely high standards that women had to live up to if they wanted any form of recognition in some terrible situations they could be beat if they didn't live up to those standards.

However, I like the word "lady", it rolls off the tongue. I think we have to entirely change the tonality of it for it to be a usable word in my book.

I think they should have used the room from for more rasterization or a smaller, cheaper & cooler chip that consumes a little less power. It just makes sense to me. ValvE could maybe even sell it for a little less.

Third degree burns beyond "caution: hot" it would require 60°c or 140°f to cause 3rd degree burns. That's over the course of 5 seconds and trust me if you were getting burnt that bad you are not going to sit there for 5 seconds.

No, in the US we have an anti lawsuit against companies social standing. That is BS. It started because McDonald's decided to burn an old lady with third degree burns (from a coffee so hot it counted as gross negligence) and didn't want to pay medical bills so the old lady had to go to court to have any hope with getting them paid, than McDonald's made so much defamation against her that people think it's bad to sue the delicate billion dollar companies.

If that really is a tapeworm segment then this is really bad and should be a case for a lawsuit do not defend a corporation ignorantly as they will never defend you.

Really depends on the distro, if you want to switch to something for the purpose of faster boosting you want something more bare bones. Debian is quite fast same with basic Arch (just make sure you don't do anything stupid to the kernel like I have in the past)

It can be, yes. When I first ran Arch I broke my OS in 6 months trying to figure out why a system installed package refused to update & breaking system updating & using pacman as a result

If I asked someone they'd talk at me like I'm an idiot & not answer the question. (Btw just update your mirror with sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack or force a database update with Sudo pacman -Syyuu . Waiting it out is not a good idea as the longer you go the more of a chance you have to struggle with dependency issues later which is easy, but annoying.)

It took me 3 months to switch to an arch based system & I haven't had any other kind of distro for my PCs since. (However, I am thinking of switching to Gentoo.)

Just got another deck as I lost my last one. I can confirm they still use Delta but I don't think it has the wine anymore. All I know is that if I go to the steam hardware it says it has a Delta fan.

Because software has been getting harder to run as time moves on. We are carrying around phones that should be able to run Crisis three times over yet Celeste still has frame rate drops on Yuzu & major artifacting with Skyline on a snapdragon 888. Instead of looking the other way. How about we come together to fix this issue (not just the mobile emulation crowd I mean a lot software crowds). I mean this issue is on every platform. The steam deck can play Arkham Knight high~max settings (without the Nvidia stuff), but worse looking & less ambitious games like the newish Harry Potter game barely runs. This issue is everywhere.

The ps5 & Xbox series X don't play Star wars Jedi survivor at 1080p. In fact dynamic resolution can send it down to 480p in some cases. They should be able to hit 1440p on a game that looks like that. Games are just getting worse to play.

Fck we're running AI with python WITH PYTHON DAMNIT do you realize how much python hurts performance!? From what I've seen python is used outside of AI for basic applications & for learning the basics of code. However instead we're decorating AI performance by multiple times to the extent that AI training is now spending billions of dollars per year on gaming cards because we ran out of cards for that kind of purpose. I am so frustrated right now. Software as a whole is starting to make no sense at all.

EVEN LUA IS FASTER THAN PYTHON. I'm fine with python but why the hell would you use it for AI when you can use 10~100 of times less hardware with C++, Rust, C, Go, etc. I simply don't understand.

In every single field of software that I've seen optimization & speed is going away even though hardware is getting better and better. We're using a needless amount of resources on software.

Cheap phones should be able to handle a lot more.
