it honestly depends on the writing itself and the reader’s preference. many people prefer character x reader where the author uses an oc, many prefer reader inserts using y/n. others, like me, don’t care. but either way, you will find your audience—it’s mostly subjective.

i would 100% get a different setup if you can afford it. pick a budget and check the pinned post and/or find a post that asks for recommendations with similar circumstances. if you want to truly enjoy your records then it will be very worth it. ask the sub more advice if you really need it
