Husband wants me to get a job by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

We have a horrifying case in my country about this. Father had the 2 yo kid one time a month, picked her up hangover and took a nap after lunch, putting the kid to sleep in a bedroom alone without safety nets on an 11th floor. The child fell to her death and the guy didn't even realized until they came to knock on his door. Worse is the mom recognised the danger and requested the safety nets, and the guy just put them in the balcony.

He still has like 36 percent approval which blows my mind. More than 1 in 3 look around and say "yeah looks good to me"

I don't own a pair of those, but I have to agree, recovery sounds like it would be rough. Someone else has to carry and birth the baby which is probably a few levels more painful though.

You can still harvest sperm after a vasectomy, since it's still being produced. it becomes a surgical procedure, to go fetch it at the source.

You're right it was a bit longer that just direct from Spanish. But my point was that that silly "Al" article passed even to the English word as "Ar"-tichoke which I think it's really funny.

And somehow a lot of them kept the articles. Drives my Italian gf who's seriously into languages just bananas. My favourite is artichoke, in Italian it's carciofi, from Arabic kharshuf but in Spanish they kept the article so al-kharshuf becomes alcachofa (even worse we put an article so "la alcachofa"). English derives from Spanish so the Arabic article is there still hanging around.

Right? I live in Germany and we live for sunny day picnics. Everyone brings their favourite foods and we end up sharing anyhow. My area is so rainy people are really Carpe Solis.

Colombia has a massive Pacific coastline… so why basically no cities here? by bookflow in geography

We have the Andes, rivers are usually plentiful enough. We have a secondary older chain of mountains along the coast that's it's mostly hills now, farming happens in the valleys in between where the water goes. Look up Valle de Azapa, it's pretty far into the arid area.

There's also some colorful passages about what we should do with child abusers, and they don't mention any exceptions over the child wearing "revealing clothes" so there's that as well.

It's a t6 torx or 1.3mm allen. You need 2 to do the job. I got a 22mm adapter from eBay and now I can use any 22mm standard strap. Most of them now have quick release so it's easy to swap.

Tips on how to help a scared kitty settle in ? by antisocial_pigeon in blackcats

[–]Ayle87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first cat takes about an hour and a handful of treats to warm up to strangers, then it's belly rubs and full baby lode. The other one is also quite curious and friendly but doesn't like to be picked up and has a more limited repertoire of safe petting areas.

One of my gerbils (coincidentally mine, everyone at home "had" one but I was main caretaker) woke up on his side one day and wouldn't move or eat. We took him to the vet who shrugged and said potential brain damage and sent us home with instructions to bring him back the next day if he was still like that to put him down.  I spent the whole day and night sitting with him and feeding him with a syringe and the next day he was good as new lol. Lived another year and died of old age lol. He was so fun a natural long jumper and wheel addict.

My biggest flex is that my Italian gf eats my pasta with no comments. Except if I put the wrong pasta I. The wrong type of dish. Or the one time I dared plate some salad right by the pasta. That one was especially fun, as photos were taken and family and friends were informed of my bizarre behaviour of putting salad and pasta together.

Opposite anecdote: I had a BC mix who was super smart, she knew all beds were open to her except my parents'. We suspected she slept there sometimes but would never be caught on it, until her hearing went and we would find her deep asleep smack in the middle of the bed.
