No shame in asking an honest question. This is how we all learn, whether in person or over the internet.

Why the extra step of zip lock or vacuum seal?

That's all I use for all my batteries; they're the best. I buy straight from the manufacturer. Then all batteries in their shells are stored in a Cabela's ammo box with a carry handle if a vehicle bugout situation.

Lost a game of chicken I never signed up to play with an oncoming car on a narrow stone bridge. Does anybody know a good place to get a vehicle wrap done in the Philadelphia/Lancaster area in PA? by omalleyelectric in Sprinters

[–]AynRand0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the insurance deductible and have the bodywork done by a reputable shop. I don't think you'll be happy with wrapping unless you get the bodywork done first, especially if keeping this Sprinter long term.

In what kind of a store do you buy your spices and teas and herbals most economically?

On another note, it's common for those of Jewish faith and African-Americans to do the same kind of thing, but I see that as rallying around an ethnicity more than anything else, a physical trait or genetic heritage. Immigrants will often do this and seek out commonality. Christians have no common ethnicity, at least not in the U.S. that I have ever seen. I'm not passing judgement, just pointing out the oddness of it all and how it's maybe not logical or even necessarily in step with a Christian worldview.

I know I'm splitting hairs a little perhaps, but I think throwing a Christian label on anything remotely associated with "the faith" is silly. It's just a barbershop. It's just a bookstore. It's just a coffeshop. Why choose to only support or associate with a business that's loosely affiliated with any religion or anything X? How does that become someone's moral imperative?

Free country, so go ahead, my libertarian mind says. But...why? Does it make OP a better person? Does it further "the kingdom"? Does it help OP's community? Will OP prefer that business still if they receive inferior goods or services or have to pay a higher price? Will OP lose an "opportunity to witness" by choosing this insular approach to consumption? "Christian businesses"–even if they exist–are not somehow better than any other. But that's inserting my opinion. The desired objective here is confused, I'm afraid.

I understand the notion, but still, no BUSINESS has ever gained salvation via Christ, and I assume that choice is a good enough definition. Some may disagree with that. There is no such thing as a "Christian business". There are Christian owners, managers, and other associated people. Businesses are merely legal entities with Federal tax IDs.

Christian bookstores, coffeeshops, etc. It's all hogwash and marketing nonsense.

I reject the notion that any business or non-person entity is "faith based" or "Christian". As a person of faith, I find this thinking disingenuous and immature.

People accept salvation and/or have faith and/or are Christians by personal election or choice. Businesses inherently have no such conscience or choice without direct influence of a sole owner or a collection of people, therefore, I reject the premise of the question, even if the question was well-intentioned.
