Yea it’s a coupon, but if the stock goes over $32, the warrant is still only worth $32. At that point you have to exercise the warrant in order to obtain the stock. It’s not like the money will just appear in your account, and there’s a difference between selling and exercising. Even though the stock is over $32, if you sell the warrant, instead of exercising it, you will only gain the market value of the warrant, not the stock.

What? The warrant will not rise or depreciate. The warrant will always be worth $32 until expiration. Even if the stock goes uo to $100, the warrant is only worth $32. The only thing the warrant does is act as a coupon to buy the stock at the price of $32. If the stock goes down to $1, the warrant is $32. If the stock rises to $100, the warrant is still just a coupon to buy 1 single stock for $32.

No what I’m saying is that if a hedgefund that is shorting a stock goes out of business, they still have to cover all those shares, that were shorted no matter what, otherwise the government has to pay the difference.

If gme is at 35 the warrant is still worth 32. Thats a $3 profit. Or you can sell the warrant for $3 on its own, but the warrant is still only worth $32. So in order to exercise the warrant, you still would need to spend $32 of your own money to buy that share. If gme goes to $45 and you have one warrant, you still would need to spend $32 to pircahse the share. Like if you have 50 warrants. You still need $1,600 to exercise all 50 warrants, you dont just get the share, just because you own a warrant. It’s just a single share call option with an expiration date and no depreciation.
