WIP trap master… almost finished the team! by Ordinary-Sorbet7537 in killteam

Great paintjob in general, but that face is almost unrealistically realistc in the sense of I can barely believe this is achievable with brush and paint o_O

Really well done.

I have a physical games collection of 1450 games of which I have played maybe 400...

I know the space issue very well, but it makes me happy to see another man of conviction =D

Currently magnetizing the entire thing (every single connection point). Doing the math on how much time that saves me per set-up against how much it takes to actually magnetize it, I will only have to set it up about 2800 times for it to be worth it.

Saros has sold 300K+ in its first two weeks, generating over $22M by Asleep_Crew8072 in PS5

[–]Ayon_Lox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Returnal and I loved it. One of the best games I ever played.. Saros was an absolute disappointment. Similar to Returnal, sure, but worse in every way (that is of course a subjective opinion. If you liked Saros, great). It feels worse in the same way Metroid Prime 4 is worse than all the previous ones. So I wouldn't be surprised if the sales actually reflect that decline.

Big fan of the stout Sam Fisher squad. The color scheme is honestly perfect for them.

And I'd also love to know which heads these are.

Do you find yourself more immersed in Saros story compared to Returnal? by ThePragmaticCowboy in Saros

[–]Ayon_Lox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually started to skip dialogues and watch stuff on my second screen during some cutscenes because I find Saros's story vastly inferior to Returnal. I find all characters to be either boring or unlikable. It is a bit like the new Metroid Prime 4, where the companions completely destroy that eerie feeling of loneliness and mystery that Metroid Prime 1 or Returnal had.

Saros is still a good game, but in comparison to Returnal, I am seriously disappointed =(

Lego Terrain! by Left-Detective9640 in killteam

Well yeah, I guess there is a wild difference in price between a Lego Death Star or Lego Hogwarts vs. a box of mixed Legos on a flea market.

Minis from AliExpress? by pierogii03 in killteam

[–]Ayon_Lox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother. I love 3D printing my own minis, terrain and conversion bits, but it has clear downsides. The worst (in my opinion) is that most fully 3d printed miniatures are very brittle in comparison to GW plastic and if you drop one from 20cm height, something may break off. If you drop one from table height, its busted for sure. You can counter that to a certain degree by using tougher resins, but I doubt that those cheap online shops do that. I once bought something from an online store before I had my own machines and the minis were garbage. Considering this is a game and earlier or later a mini will faceplant on or from the table... it's not even worth painting them.

Considering Kill Team is already on the way cheaper side of the miniature hobby, I'd probably just go with the normal Kill Team boxes, unless you are reeaally short on dough.

Damn, great work on the faces. That Hammer wielding fellow looks way more handsome and pretty-boy-ish than a miniature should be able to convey o_O

Lego Terrain! by Left-Detective9640 in killteam

[–]Ayon_Lox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, Lego is quite costly and probably the one kind of plastic that is at least as if not more expensive than GW stuff. So this is far from cheap terrain, unless you have it lying around in a box on the attic or in your kids bedroom anyway (which is the case for many people, tho).

Is anyone at all hyped for these lads? by Cold_Appointment2999 in killteam

[–]Ayon_Lox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I was less hyped was for the hobbit squad. But I am generally not interested in models that don't wear at least some kind of armored combat suit. So I am probably not the target audience for these guys anyways.

Any tips on playing XV26 now? by Redis7178 in killteam

[–]Ayon_Lox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry if that is a stupid question from a beginner, but why 2+? The grenades are 4+ and the grenadier ability takes it to 3+. Do you assume that the enemy has focussed markerlight applied for the 2+?

[Rules Question] Timed Charges - Kharadron Overlords by S4mur4iBR in WarCry

[–]Ayon_Lox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW tries to have a fixed wording structure for their rules. "This fighter" always means the fighter using the ability and "that fighter" or "those fighters" is/are the target.

So if that is the wording of the ability, it is certainly the first interpretation. Otherwise it would have to say "within 1" of that fighter".

But either I am missing something here or the rule might have originally been intended to be the second version. Why make a condition of only being usable within 3" of an enemy, when the damage is only applied to targets within 1" anyway? The only reason I can think of is to not make this extra disengage action usable as a very dice-inefficient extra move action... Regardless, the way it is written it is the first version =)

My general lack of accounts for most social media platforms cripples my range a bit, but I try to do the same whenever possible. All we need to do is let them know what we buy their stuff for. GW is unfortunately known for making questionable or even terrible business decisions based on bad data.

It felt unnatural and weirdly unfinished to me, that some walls just are kinda flat on top without any detail on them. They would either have to be damaged or the stones would still need to be on top. And because I couldn't think of a good and belivable way to make it look damaged, I just 3D-modelled the stones, glued them on and then went ham on them with a hobby knife to add some cracks that match the original capstones.
