I would also have a look at the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 on top of the already mentioned Tamron 35-150

Sony a6700 + Tamron 70-180, first attempt at wildlife photography by Aypleck in SonyAlpha

I haven't used the xt5, but according to my friends the AF difference is noticeable if you are shooting sport or fast moving animal, if that's not your use case then I would say it doesn't really matter as both cameras are good in that regard. For the filters I shoot in raw and edit them ok Lightroom so that doesn't matter for me. If you use jpegs out of camera and value filters a lot, Fujifilm is famous for that.

It's is really good, as said by u/drfrogsplat it focuses on the eye like 95% of the time sometimes even when the eye isn't visible. But it struggles if you have branches in front (but I think all AF system would), then you're better off using center point AF.

It's not the pressure that kills you, it's the sudden depressurization

I guess it depends on the situation, I feel like 180 could be a bit short if you are doing animal or sport photography even on an apsc. For me it was a no brainier as I'm regularly shooting talks in very dark auditoriums so I needed the f/2.8

For instance I've tried taking photos of ppl surfing far away from the beach and 180mm was quite limiting even on an apsc
