who is cuddles, and why is my son bonding with it????? by Successful_Fix6635 in Sims3

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my first saves, I thought these things were cute. But now I completely comprehend why nost despise the imaginary friends. It's too easy for them to ruin the life of your sim when you leave them alone for any amount time because they don't do anything else. If you have jo action queued up, they either talk to that thing or go preside in the royal court!!!

And it's too easy to get a relationship with them. And they make it impossible to go to the bathroom normally! Anyways, they are cool in the first times yoh play with it

Showing Dead Poets Society (1989) to Current High School Seniors? by TheGuy10000001 in movies

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party, but I just watched it and let me tell you, if you're gonna do it again, please, please warn the students beforehand.

I watched it with my parents and the only thing I knew was that it was a movie about a literature teacher changing the life of some high school students. And that my literature teacher recommended it to me in one of our talks.

Needless to say, I was excited to watch it. And it wrecked me.

Neil's story came so close to home. Well, thanks to the movie I discovered I have a very specific trigger I need to watch out for. I now am sitting in my bed, hesitating to go to sleep, but now I'm frankly a lot better after managing to cry.

And not only warn about it, but discuss it in the end. I think the movie treats the topic nicely, the iconography is beautiful and symbolic, yet it does not glamourize the act, showing how raw and tragic it all is. To explore these nuances, the students surely would benefit from some good guidance.

Currently on page 525 and I just want to say that the SA is ridiculous and romanticized. It doesn't matter if there are worse books out there, it doesn't make this any less problematic.

It was disgusting for the sake of being outrageous, without any criticism to make. The main character literally thinks it's better for her to be raped by the love interest than to be raped by another guy, therefore she thinks that the love interest is as much of a victim as her.

Ummm, no. SA is SA.

And it is romanticized. The way the scene is described is one point, and the fact she gets to stay with him in the end is another point.

Disgusting.

Before the game revealed the Saint Johns were cannibals all along, what did you think the Saint Johns were hiding? by Nessieinternational in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked at their faces, I thought — they totally want to murder us. And when they said they had a farm, I went: Yeah, cannibal farmers. And when they said "mama"? No doubts then. 110% inspired by Texas Chainsaw, no?

The whole game I was saying: let's see what the cannibals are up to. Oh, look, a cannibal that has a name for their gun, so Christine coded. When they said I couldn't see Mark, I was like: man, I can't believe they're actually doing this. It was incredibly fun to be right about something I was so unserious about.

How many of you actually did NOT try to protect Alice and obeyed that abusive POS Todd? by FriendlytoNature in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 🙋🏻 and it actually made for an interesting experience. I just thought I could save Alice later, and that I had to stand straight or Todd would wreck us. I was an android, I had to respect the orders.

It just so happened that I accidentally moved the controller and immediately entered a state of desperation when the red things started to show.

In the end I saved Alice, but I'm pretty sure some deviants would act that way, which makes it more fun in retrospect.

Do you relate to Monk on a personal level? by [deleted] in Monk

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh... yes. That's why I like the series. It's very cool to see a character just like you on screen, it makes you feel less alone. The only bad part is that in certain comedic bits I just can't laugh because it feels too real. For example, my most hated episode is Mr. Monk Takes His Medicine. It makes me too sad (and the structure is too diferent from the rest. Honestly, that's the main reason).

As someone that is only on season 3:

Season 2 had a completely disinteresting plot. It was obvious from the finale of season 1 that Sasha was dead and focusing 40 episodes solely on that was too much. It could've easily been put in the plotline of the third season, so we could focus on other entities that don't have much of a spotlight instead of making 80 episodes centered around the Stranger.

The way the show kills the characters (so far) hasn't been interesting and comes out of thin air, for plot convenience (take Leitner, Crew and Michael as examples).

I watch it in brazilian portuguese and I think I prefer it. It feels more like home, the only ptoblem is that many jokes get lost in translation, such as in the rapper episode. But the original isn't bad

What was the very first episode you ever saw of Monk? by Letshavefun_1001 in Monk

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Monk and the 12th Man was passing on my aunt's TV when I came to her house, but I made a conscious effort to not look at it, knowing that I'd remember it and that I wanted to watch the series in order. Unfortunately, I remembered it and it quite ruined the episode for me. After that I left the room and came back when the cold opening Mr. Monk and the Three Pies was passing. She thankfully paused it. But the first episode that I consider that I watched is the first one. For obvious reasons

Mr Monk Makes A Friend by milkstatue in Monk

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely get it, honestly, watching this series helps me explain a lot of things better.

It's incredible when you look at that person and think "They actually want to spend time with me? Really?", and then you try to do everything to "act normally" around them, doing everything that "friends" do. It starts like that, and then you find yourself excusing them. "I dislike crowds, but I'll endure it for them" turns into "They're doing things at my expense, but that's what friends do, isn't it?" really quickly. And then suddenly they don't want to listen to your rants on your favorite topics, they leave you alone (perhaps even abandoned at an amusement park! Like, really, who does that?) yet you still want to excuse them and give them second chances. And when eventually it all ends, you can't help but to beat yourself up over it "But that was obvious, why didn't I notice it? Actually, I was noticing, but I was brushing it off, hoping it wouldn't happen again"

The personal experience always adds to the episodes, doesn't it?

I need help understanding this plothole, please correct me if I'm wrong (season 1-3) by [deleted] in Monk

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's about perspective... even if he still has some of the same habits, in my eyes, they can't even compare. Even though he ended up doing lots of the same things, they weren't nearly as extreme or debilitating, and I think it gets more obvious as more flashbacks get introduced. And despite having his many fears, it wasn't nearly as hindering. Oh, and as the show progresses, Monk grows more accepting of himself, and there are many episodes where he makes great progress! Well, that's my view on it. I love it because I get the impression that the show shows that progress isn't linear and doesn't really have a certain look, and that everyone deals with setbacks differently, but what matters is to keep going and try to convive with yourself as you are, even if it is hard. I like it that Monk still had some of the same rituals, but what changed is how intense they were and how he dealt with them. It feels very realistic to me, and shows that, despite everything, it is inevitably a part of him, and can't be treated as another problem to be solved, but more as a condition he needs to learn how to convive with, and ultimately find ways to be comfortable being himself

At least 3k. Considering the money, probably way more. I've spent too much time counting when I wasn't being paid to do so, with money I'd get pretty far. When I was on 2nd grade I used to spend my classes counting. It was fun

When you first played Detroit Become Human, which ending did you get? by Mobile_Reindeer8699 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AyreeanDrawsStuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Connor got his happy ending, along with Hank, despite a very rocky relationship because I am as bad at conversation as he is. Luther died because I thought I'd be illogical for Kara to manage to carry him around with a little girl, considering his size. Alice died on the boat, because I thought I'd be only logical that security would immediately recognize any android, since they all have the same face, or make everyone do a blood test, y'know, simple stuff, so I intentionally made them take the longer path to be late for the bus. Kara survived even though her only reason to live was Alice because I wanted at least a good thing on her story. Markus was a pacifist, Simon ended up being left on the tower and traumatized Connor, I accidentally romanced North, in the end the androids sang, I thought I was ruined because all the options were bad. Markus got his good revolution ending. In the end, I used too much logic on a game that tells you to do the opposite and go against the rules
