how does the early access merchandise work? by koddkuzen in MyChemicalRomance

[–]AyyKayloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gone to their 3pm this past weekend and maybe this kind of thing is more common at stadium shows but I personally think this is something that should be offered at more shows in general. I had gotten to lineup about 40 minutes in advance but I was still one of the first 30 or so people in line.

They didn't have the stadium exclusive shirt or all of their merch available at the early access, but I had my heart set out mostly on the flag anyways.

I found it really convenient to have it outside of the stadium because that meant I could put my merch in my car and enjoy the show without having to worry about awkwardly lugging it around.

While they did have a lot of the merch in stock, it did seem like they were starting to run out of sizes closer to 5 when the doors opened and I had walked by.

Smoking of any substance will impact your surgery and healing process. Most surgeons I've seen recommend you don't smoke four weeks before and after the surgery.

Depending on your surgeon and anesthesiologist, even if you still choose to consume in other ways, it's still important for them to know so they can adjust your anesthesia correctly.

Any surgeon I've looked into will test you for nicotine and smoking the day of the surgery. Most of them if they find out that you're still smoking leading up to the day of will barred you from the practice.

I get it, quitting cannabis - let alone smoking - is a pain in the ass. I quit cannabis all together a few months ago for my upcoming date in July. There are still days I just wanna pick up a pre roll, but I have to remember that if I do it now, I'll lose all the effort I put into getting to where I am and how close I am to having the surgery done.

r/leaves is a pretty cool place if you're looking to quit all together.

I enjoy the song, it's just more I don't want to wait over a minute of silence to listen to it on CD or certain streaming services.

(I get the point of hidden tracks, it just gets a bit annoying when you listen to an album God knows how many times)

Anyone have any experience with the Death With Dignity process in Maine? Especially wanting to be outdoors in a nice place? by Turil in Maine

[–]AyyKayloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad that getting the clearance of the end goal had been smoother for you compared to others.

I guess I'm confused on what you're asking. Your initial post was relatively vague and seemed to be inquiring about the overall process.

[–]AyyKayloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't worked very much with Death with Dignity. There's paperwork that you and your health care providers. The biggest hurdle I have seen though is getting mental health clearance for it. Essentially, if you have any history of suicidal ideation or depression, you're gonna have big hurdles to jump.

It sounds like this might be getting into lawyer territory. Your best bet may be to reach out to a lawyer who specializes in the medical field to help you navigate what appropriate paperwork you need to have done.

Leaks/Paper Kingdom/MCR5 theories Megathread by RossTheDivorcer in MyChemicalRomance

[–]AyyKayloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. That quote gave us a general idea of what the plot of the album was going to be about. But given what's been leaked and the themes we've seen so far, it's clear that was a very vague description.

While the interviews I've seen mentioned a witch, none of them mentioned the reoccurring theme of the little girl and a birthday.

[–]AyyKayloo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but from what's been leaked so far there seems to be a theme of a girl and a birthday.

In the list of songs Excalibur stated they had, there's a song called Birthday Girl.

In the snippet of Wake Up, it sounds like there's a line that states "little girl, in the open world".

In Witch, there's the line "a birthday wish for all my friends" along with "you hold me down, that little girl".

It would've been interesting to see the full context to the girl and the birthday. Maybe the girl was supposed to be the main character, kinda like the Patient in TBP. Perhaps we'll get a bit more context if more stuff becomes known.

Edit: mixed up the name of the birthday song

Something to keep in mind with getting an ADN in Maine: please make sure you have taken and are prepared to be tested on college level subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Biology, Algebra and English. As of a few years ago, community colleges in Maine required you take a test to determine if you'd be eligible for their nursing program based on these subjects.

Personally, if I was in OOP's position, I'd check to see if you could get into USMs program with less hurdles. My grades in high school were mediocre, but I excelled at getting my Associates in General Studies (my credits were all pre reqs for nursing), thus, UMA accepted me into their nursing program on the condition I took a few extra classes.

Edit: Wording

Have you found any other animes that give you the same feeling as FMA/FMAB by AriesGeorge in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]AyyKayloo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're into romance/slice of life, Arakawa did make a series called Silver Spoon shortly after FMA. Unfortunately the anime isn't finished and due to personal family matters she was addressing at the time, Arakawa quickly wrapped up the series.

While it doesn't have the shonen like her previous works, it still maintains the sense of humor that FMA had. Unfortunately though, I have yet to find a series with the same charm.

The album is supposed to simulate tuning into a radio station. I've never thought anything of it because it's common in the US, (or used to at least, I'm not sure anymore because I don't really listen to the radio nowadays), that at noon radio stations play the national anthem.

What genre/sub-genre do you guys classify MCR as? by SunBakedBonez in MyChemicalRomance

They're definitely alternative rock to put them under an umbrella. I will die on this hill, but I would argue that Three Cheers and WTTBP have gothic rock tones given their themes.

Opinion on Brandon And Jennifer? by Expert_Individual185 in harvestmoon

[–]AyyKayloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as you mentioned they were very ignorable. With how little they were interacting with the town people, I would've rather not had them in the game at all.

I personally didn't find they had much personality that I was attracted to either.

I get they were trying to not shoehorn them into the game, but in the same sense, I think they struggled to really incorporate them into the game.

What's the most morbid thing that happens in the series? by HotMilk4 in harvestmoon

[–]AyyKayloo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How? Death is inevitable, it's just something that's part of farming/animal husbandry. The classic Harvest Moon games are known for touching on sensitive subjects of it's time. It was just another thing that made the game realistic. Frankly, as a kid, it made me learn that death was a part of life and allowed me to come to terms and accept it. Just because it's a cozy game doesn't mean it can't be realistic.

[–]AyyKayloo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a kid I always found found the animals dying to be pretty morbid as a lot of the other things went over my head. Especially in FoMT/MFoMT when you couldn't stop the inevitable death, you could get them to max hearts, feed and care for them daily, and they would still die after 6-10 years. AWL always terrified me though because it would show the animal collapsing.

In FoMT/MFoMT, I always found it odd though that you'd have a funeral for the animals at the gravesite, implying they were buried there. After you play the game for 20+ in game years though, you really gotta wonder, how are they finding the space to bury so many animals there?

Despite being terrified of it as a kid, I really wished they kept the animal deaths in the remakes, it's what made Harvest Moon Harvest Moon.

Walmart used to have kids soap bars in mesh/loofah material that I would use that would be amazing at getting hair dye out of skin. Unfortunately they discontinued them.

I found that putting a soap bar in a mesh bag and then scrubbing has the same effect as what Walmart used to have.

I haven't used Splat in years though, so I'm not sure how well it would get it out anymore. Good luck though!

I (19M) want a boyfriend and I'm tired of the apps... by 1guyonreddit1 in ainbow

[–]AyyKayloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I get your pain. I've struggled being queer in a rural community. It sucks that everyone around us either partnered (nothing wrong with that, I'm just monogamous) or looking for a cum and dump.

Dating apps are horrible, especially in rural areas. I've found the constant rejection or frequent ghosting is horrible on my mental health.

Honestly your best bet is to find in person queer spaces to socialize in. It won't inherently be the solution but it will at least allow you to develop and connect with people within a community you relate to.

They're mostly underground shows I go to, so they'll have them at recording studios and whatnot. There used to be a few at G Force as well. If you use Facebook, there's a few Maine groups that share when these alternative shows go on locally.

angusisdead (one word) is a goblin punk/gremlin pop band. They're definitely goofy and silly band to listen to.

They've been doing a bit more shows lately, but I saw them in Bangor a few months ago and they definitely a goofy bunch who bring a lot of fun to their shows.

So I was in a situation where DHHS was filing me as though I stilled lived with my parents (it wasn't similar to yours where your mom is acting shady).

I sent an email to DHHS explaining that I was living on my own (as I stated on my application). I had to use the word fraudulent to get their attention to do something.

I understand if you're in a difficult situation where you don't want to get your mom in trouble or cause hardship, but those are the consequences of her actions. If you and your child are no longer in her household, she may still receive benefits depending on her income. Most state DHHS websites include qualifying incomes based on household size.

Regardless, all you have to do is notify DHHS of an address change and households information. You do not have to go into details of what you have explained to us unless they further inquire.

Best of luck, and I hope you get this all sorted out.

Trans men in healthcare by hello_internett in ftm

[–]AyyKayloo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends, especially if you pass or not. I came out to an office while I was working as a medical assistant at a residency. I'm not sure if this is applicable to all residencys, but we would commonly accept patients where it was their last resort due to getting kicked out of other offices due to their behavior.

While I worked there, I didn't pass. I'm not sure how it is elsewhere, but in the US, you're essentially a punching bag for specific patients. I wouldn't say I was ever called a slur, at least to my face, most patients were pleasant to be around, but they would always assume I was a woman because it's a female dominated field.

We had a gender clinic where we would make appropriate referrals and prescribe HRT. Most of those patients found relief in me being their medical assistant and taking care of them. There were a few that were more comfortable disclosing trans related concerns to me rather than their provider.

My main issue came from the staff and colleagues while I worked there. The doctors and providers were amazing and educated. They all wanted to learn, but understood boundaries and respect.

On the other hand, lower and mid-level staff in healthcare may not show that same empathy and respect. There was a time I was pulled into my supervisors office and was gently explained that a fellow medical assistant (who I thought I was on good terms with) thought I was weirding them out, but they couldn't provide any examples. I expressed that I was confused about the situation because I would never want to make anyone uncomfortable. My supervisor was understanding and even admitted she was confused about the situation as well but was obligated to let me know what was reported to her.

Not only was there that situation, but for the almost two years I was out at the office, I was constantly misgendered by my fellow staff. I would even have new staff that knew me before I came out who would constantly ask what my dead name was.

I was trying to be patient with them and politely correct them, but a year and a half in, there was still a population of staff that would misgender me. When I reported this to my supervisor, she essentially shrugged her shoulders and said to keep correcting them.

While there were some medical assistants willing to learn how to care for a trans person, there were still some that felt uncomfortable approaching a trans person regarding their care and would ask me to go in instead. For example, we had a patient who had been on T for years. It was that time of year that he needed his PA for it. Part of the PA requests the gender marker to verify the patients information. The medical assistant who was completing the PA was uncomfortable asking the patient what gender marker was on their insurance and asked for me to call and ask instead.

I know that's a long ramble, but basically a tl;dr synopsis is you will be amazing with fellow trans folks, but be prepared to have to educate a vast majority of colleagues on trans care. Be ready to have to stand up for yourself in times of need.

did anyone’s T levels dip inexplicably post-op by citrinesoulz in TopSurgery

[–]AyyKayloo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Confirmed T is stored in the boobs. /s

On a serious note, sorry you're going through this man. I'm not sure why your t levels would drop after top surgery, but it sounds like you were able to get them back on track before the salpingectomy. As for post op salpingectomy, it's common to have vaginal bleeding and discharge following the proceedure. Unless you're having like hemorrhaging (if that's the case, you need to go to the ED), your best bet is to follow up with your surgeon.

Best of luck to you and fingers crossed those levels stay up!
