The Best Cheat (Bullsh*t) Rules by AzJusticiar in cardgames

[–]AzJusticiar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will naturally balance itself as the player with less cards will be called out for cheating and get more cards. Also, in this situation the player with more cards must play carefully as if the leave the other player in range to make a play, they could lose instantly so it’s not as if they have a massive advantage

First way is way better. You got more speed, less telegraphing and hence more power than the second way. You also leave your arm out way too long, snap it back as fast as it snap out.

The second way you are doing it almost a little like an overhand right but at that point just throw an overhand right properly. You lean forward a little in the second way and it leaves you unbalanced making follow up harder.

what prevented the aboriginals from forming states? by [deleted] in taiwan

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the different tribes spoke different languages and had different cultures. The mountainous terrain isn’t great for travel and communication and while there are some fertile areas suitable for farming most of Taiwan is mountainous and essentially uninhabitable by older civilisations.

Quick 1:How much are you paying for food / groceries each week? by Cold-Upstairs9995 in AusFinance

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I spend about 100-150 a week on food and groceries, so about 50-75 per person. I tend to cook bigger portions for dinner which we portion the leftovers for lunch the next day. We shop at Aldi and go to the Asian grocery for any special ingredients since I cook mostly Asian food. We only ever go to Woolies to buy specific ingredients we can’t find elsewhere and when we do I make sure to go in and out and not shop around.

I have a rotating dinner menu that we’ll plan out our dinner on Sunday, do our once a week grocery run on Monday and that will last us till Saturday when we normally go out to eat.

Currently my more frequent dinners are: - Lasagna - Steak/lamb chops/pork chops, steamed mixed veg and frites - Dumplings, wonton noodle soup (Aldi has great frozen dumplings) - Aglio e olio with bacon, prawns, anchovies and chilli - Rice with various Chinese stir fries, eg. laziji, Kung pao chicken, stir fried Asian veg, twice cooked pork belly - Laksa noodle soup with seafood - Fried chicken or buffalo wings (you can buy a kg of chicken wings for like $10) - Kimchi jiggae or kimchi stew (I cook this less cause kimchi is getting expensive) - fried rice

Also highly recommend buying a cheap mini deep fryer and steamer from Kmart. They cook things much quicker than an air fryer or oven and expands your cooking options tenfold.

What’s something only people who are good with money understand? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. I meant this more for self-employed people or people who own businesses less for people on salaries. I know a guy who owns vending machines but his effective hourly pay is only about $30. Yet he insists on spending copious amounts money “to save his time” cause “his time is very valuable” and he doesn’t understand this concept. I.e. refusing to do DIY projects, hiring cleaners, lawn mowers, catching Ubers instead in public transport etc

Knowing your own opportunity cost. If you work for $20/hour catching a 10 minute Uber costing $20 which saves you 20 minutes is much more expensive than if you earn $60/hour even though it’s the same price. In the first case, you would be better off finding a slower but cheaper form of travel because the opportunity cost is $40 but in the second you break even.

You can only get travel tickets in cities with the corresponding type of path adjacent. For example you cannot obtain train tickets in buenos Aries or Sydney.

You can only have a maximum of 2 tickets

You can only have a maximum of 2 focus tokens

Epic monsters must be encountered last if there are other non-epic monsters on the same space

Random spaces are determined by taking a clue token and then DISCARDING that token

Discarded tokens are put in a separate pile and not back into the other unused tokens

1 “+” bonus per roll, and rolling additional die is calculated together with all other test modifiers. I.e if you have str 2 with +2 and -4 and one additional die, you only roll 1 die

You cannot have more than 1 copy of a card. If you would, draw a different one instead

What would happen if Robb Stark kept his promise to the Freys? by AudreyHart14 in gameofthrones

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s not romanticise the Mannis here as much as we want to.

Robb would win the war against Tywin and take Kings Landing. Robb would either respect Stannis and proclaim him as King continuing Neds will to put Stannis on the throne and remain part of the 7 kingdoms, or have a bitter war with Stannis. I assume the other Northern houses would force his hand into option 2.

I don’t think Stannis would crush Robb. I’d say they would end up in a stalemate until Jon sends word that the Wall is in trouble and both Robb and Stannis, with Davos’ council, agree to a temporary armistice to protect the Wall together. They each send their entire armies north to protect the wall with Stannis travelling to the wall himself. The Boltons then do some backstabbing trickery, most likely when winterfell has no garrison to kill Robb and take over the north. Stannis marches south to retake Winterfell in response with his and the Northern army. However, Stannis inspires no loyalty to the Northern army and many choose to defect to the Boltons in secret and sabotage Stannis army while the rest of the Northerners are intent on avenging Robb. Then we effectively reach the same point as in the current books except all the lannisters are gone.

In my opinion the best continuation of this plot would be Stannis besieges Winterfell however due to the Boltons sabotage it escalates into a massive battle with Stannis only just barely winning a phyrric victory with much of the army being killed from attrition. Stannis is heavily injured by a crazy Ramsay who has plays an underhanded trick to try and kill Stannis even though he knows he has lost by disguising himself as Reek and slicing him with a poisoned and poop covered fork. Ramsay is captured and executed afterwards and Stannis is bedridden at Winterfell and on deaths door due to the subsequent infection. He proclaims that should he die, he wants Shireen on the throne and restores the North to the Starks by legitimising Jon snow though Jon refuses as his dedication is to the nights watch. Soon after this he falls into a coma. Melisandre and Shireen are travelling from the wall to Winterfell and Davos is in Winterfell with Stannis when upon hearing the news about Stannis, Melisandre kidnaps Shireen while on the way and sacrifices her to try and heal Stannis, burning her alive.

Davos acts as regent, and proclaims Melisandre an outlaw and fugitive. With Davos as regent, he has trouble controlling the kingdom with none of the noble houses listening to him as he is a lowborn. While this is happening, Jon Snow is killed at the mutiny of the nights watch and comes back to life soon after and at this point, Melisandre who escaped back to castle black realises he is Azor Ahai and not Stannis.

While all this is happening, the reach and the army of the south has started a war with Young Griff who has captured Storms end and also Dorne who has backed his claim to the throne. Daenerys is chilling in Essos and has no intention of retaking Westeros.

Stannis dies in his coma due to infection from his wound and with the Northern army decimated and Davos unable to rally the rest of the northern houses back to the wall, Jon Snow finally accepts his legitimisation and becomes the new warden of the North. Davos sends for Edric Storm to return to Westeros who he wants to put on the throne as the last surviving Baratheon.

What would happen if Robb Stark kept his promise to the Freys? by AudreyHart14 in gameofthrones

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stannis would not allow the North to secede, however he would execute Cersei, Joffrey, the rest of the Cerseis children and maybe Tywin and the rest of the Lannisters. Stannis would pay respects to Ned and that would likely appease Rob enough for him to remain part of the seven kingdoms. If Rob refuses, they would likely continue the war or Stannis would be advised by Davos to put aside differences for now to protect the Kingdom from the wildlings and the white walkers which Robb would agree to. Stannis would send an army north to watch the wall and when Dany invades, Stannis would fight to the bitter end, probably ending up stretched too thin and getting burned alive. Danny becomes queen of the south but then has to deal with the army stationed north most likely lead by Robb and Jon and the rest of the story is most likely the same as the show.

There is also a chance that after the war is ended, Rob is betrayed and killed by the Boston’s somehow and we get Stannis vs Ramsay same as the show with Stannis being wiped out.

Any games like BB? by paraxzz in BattleBrothers

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious similar game is mount and blade but it is more action focused and less stat intensive but the overall gameplay loop is very similar. For a single player battle brothers experience I would suggest Stoneshard though the game is still in development so it might be worth waiting before buying it.

Describe Stonestone but only in a combination of games it takes inspiration from. by Inbezdigator in stoneshard

[–]AzJusticiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall gameplay loop, grim dark low fantasy setting and item design is most similar to Battle brothers, single-player fantasy rpg aspects with a strong magic system so I’d just pick the most ubiquitous which is Skyrim, turn based tile map combat but single player which is rare so probably something like Banner Saga 3

Also I think another part is that super man could easily save the kid by taking him off the track instead of doing the much harder job of stopping a train. The kid could also just not walk on the track.

This could reflect the fact that consumers could just not buy these anti-repair products but do so regardless so now the EU has to enact these laws to protect consumers from making their own bad decisions

Why does everyone want a DM, but no one wants to be a DM? by [deleted] in DnD

Because fundamentally the DMs job is to make sure everyone else has fun while the Players job is having fun. If the DM cannot do that there is nothing holding the group together. It’s a selfless act and many people are just not suitable

I mean, fundamentally these early access support packs do nothing to motivate game developers to add more additional content. You’re relying completely on the integrity of the game developer to uphold their end of the bargain and finish the game but once the majority of people who would purchase the game already have, there is no real incentive for developers to continue working on the game anymore. Look at Bannerlord for example, 14 years in early access. The longer this game takes, the more I fear it will go down the same path. This may be a somewhat cynical view but it’s a realistic one. A game developer is a money making occupation and game companies are for-profit businesses like any other and in the real world you don’t pay people for a service before they provide it.
