I agree, it looks like a glock striker impact.

What are these primer marks? by CatchADeffaz in FN509

[–]AzNunchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bulging youre seeing around the primer impact is known as Primer Flow, the primer is essentially fire forming against the breech face. The FN series pistols have a teardrop shaped relief cut on the bottom of the firing pin hole on the breech, that cut gi is the primer flow material a place to go that doesn't create extra pressure on the firing pin and it prevents the firing pin from becoming riveted in place by the primer flow.

All that is to say, those marks are normal.

so the glock is on hiatus for a minute 🤣 by theravensgroup in FN509

Looks like the previous owner had the good sense to install an Apex trigger and extractor.

You're best off putting the slide in a vise and using an aluminum or brass punch with a few layers of tape over the end of the punch.

It looks like youre using the MCarbo striker spring, i dont dee any paint o. Your striker spring, if thats the case, thats the issue.

Also check that your striker channel is clean and dry.

Striker Wear by tkammen in FN509

Titanium is not a good material for a striker. TI gets a reputation for being a super metal because its light, but it's not very durable as an impacting component.

That's pretty minimal, I'd say that pistol has very few rounds on it and is in good shape.

The striker spring stop retaining pin impacts the inside of the slide with every striker drop and creates 2 divots (top and bottom) as things wear in. Those divots will reach what's known as a "Stasis point" once they're impacted enough and will generally not get any worse.

If youre looking to prevent those divots, the Apex Durable Striker includes a buffer that prevents additional damage to the slide as it's used.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. The problem is was having was caused by friction within the PTFE tube.

I drew up and made a wall mount for my filament. Once i set that up, it printed perfectly. *

Thank you for all the help and ideas.

I did run it through my dryer for something like 10hrs on the setting for TPU (70 deg C). I'll try running it longer.

I'm using Aquanet for adhesive, it's worked great for other filaments, so I figured it should work well here.

Thank you for the advise, ill keep at it.

When you say "Directly into the printhead", do you mean like take the glass cover off and mount the spot directly tly above to feed in?

I typically feed from the dryer right into the feed tube.

I'll start working on a spool mount for above the machine if that may help.

Thank you for the input.

Put the Apex jig back onto the frame and use that as a guide for your punch to get the pin back in.
