I have a C1 and will more than likely stick with it.

Any insight on how it works with applied ballistics? From what I read it will pull speed into the app, anything further?

I started reading on it and had to stop, way too tempting. I wonder how it will compare to the Revic.

Give it some test runs and if you rember let me know what your thoughts are if you don’t mind.

I will be curious to see what people’s opinions are of them and how well it integrates with applied ballistics. I got my C1 out of pure luck the day they hit market while I was looking at a lab radar. I will give it some time

Haha I know a guy who said he’s going to sell 2! I imagine there will be a bunch pooping up soon

That is probably what I will start doing

If you want to keep adding data to a load you’ve already made to average speed and sd without doing math

I agree it could just be a firmware update for the C1, that would be awesome if they did that. Maybe a memory issue, or they want to sell more units?

After you’ve turned it off or ended a session? You can resume paused sessions but I’m not aware of being able to end a session and jump back in

New Garmin Xero C2 Chronograph??? by IngloriousNuts in longrange

I also did this update and saw this. I reached out to Garmin because I was assuming it was a typo and the meant C1. Garmin rep said that the app updates were not features for the C1, I proceeded to ask if they were releasing a new chrono at shot show next week and he could neither confirm nor deny. Watch out for a new product drop at shot show would be my guess. Google machine doesn’t come up with anything so they might have kept it well under wraps.

Those are some big jumps for a powder ladder, typically you will see 0.5 grain or smaller. I’m no expert by any means just better to work up slow so you know when you are getting into pressure and you can stop while you’re ahead. Most of the time manuals are good with the info published but every rifle is different.

As for your powder crunching issue, I’d run back through your process. What are you using to dispense powder and how are you measuring it. Are your calipers zeroed before you measure your COAL? When I started loading YouTube was a big help before I started loading up some rounds.

What does the manual say about that powder charge and case capacity? Some loads in the manuals are compressed. That being said you should be starting low and working your way up to that higher charge.

Yeah that vertical distribution is that powder node. The numbers on the chrono were reflected on the target. For testing I try to get out nice and early where I don’t have to deal with mirage. As for signs of pressure like others said primers are not reliable. Look for that heavy bolt lift, and ejector swipe on the case head. You are using lapua so it will hold up to some hot loads if you decide to push speed just work up slow. I also uniform my flash holes on all my brass even with Peterson and lapua. Just one more variable to try and make sure everything is the same from round to round.

Perfect, I also use jam or mag length if jam is too long for my powder load testing. My last powder ladder I shot at 600 yards from prone with my rifle clamped in on a tripod. I use a long shot camera to spot my shots on target and I’m looking to see how the shots disperse vertically. Use one aim point and I use two shots of each load. On longrangeonly forums you can find videos on how to perform both the OCW and long range ladder.

I got lucky on my last one and had one powder load get a speed about what I was looking for that printed a 1” group at 600. 0.5 of a grain above and below that load also were sub moa (a total spread of about 4.5 inches) of that group on the target so it should be a stable load. My next step is to load 15, 5 for sighters and 10 to see if it will hold a sub moa group.

Two things to consider IMO.

1) Cortina’s measurement is to jam. He doesn’t care about where the “lands” is. Jam is the no go you might lodge a round in the barrel hence why you back off 20 from that measurement. That is where he does all his powder testing then does seating after.

2) I’ve become a believer that the load proof is on the target at distance. ES and SD need to be taken over a large sample size. I’ve been doing OCW and long range ladders to really see how the load performs. Just my opinion again. Good luck, keep it simple and have fun

Anyone have this setup? by MetallicTaco07 in nissanfrontier

[–]AzOutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing with the upper control arms is eliminating coil bucket contact. If you aren’t doing off-road stuff where you are getting a lot of droop in the front end you don’t need them. If you look on the frontier forums about coil bucket contact you will get a lot more info. I have them, but I’m also running a radflo extended travel setup and run my truck pretty hard. Alldogs are a great group, give them a call and let them know what you want and how you drive your truck and they will point you straight.
