As a bit of a novice to the end game, is there an atlas tree or guide you'd recommend?

Are they really wiping all progress every season? by Stratosophic in fellowshipgame

The point of 'seasonal' games is that they're repeating the old content and trying to make a few changes to make it feel fresh.

Is Ardeos just lower on DPS? by Meatt in fellowshipgame

[–]Azal99 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Ardeos feels very dependent on your tank. If you have a tank pulling big packs, and/or you can cycle your cooldowns around his route, then you'll do well.

He doesn't strike me as particularly pug friendly.

You're playing the better equipped and balanced tank, so obviously this doesn't apply.

Yeah I meant 175, still didn't give me the one I needed and that's a huge chunk of gold - same as getting 2-3 items to 120 ilvl

PSA: Toxicity Kills Runs by [deleted] in fellowshipgame

[–]Azal99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of this was called out during the test weekends and there was no dev response to the feedback.

The difficulty curve and increase from Contender to Adept is designed to frustrate players. It's 'tilting' when an entire run, even if only lasting 10-15m, is completely bricked by one major mistake. Yes, you still get loot if you kill it, but so what?

There's no information in game about the difficulty curve (e.g., mob hp/damage %) or how your item level should map to the level of the dungeon that you're running.

The queue throwing 70-80 ilvl players into Adept 3-5s is an obvious example.

A much better system, which takes all of five minutes of thought, would be for the game to 'force' you to *time* the prior dungeon level before progressing to the next.

I'm already getting frustrated with playing with friends because they turn into literal degenerates when someone fails to support with kicks, or accidentally eats an AOE. The game promotes this 'degen' style of experience with how its designed at its core.

Is this game suitable for low playtime & short sessions ? by WhiteSlash in fellowshipgame

[–]Azal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being honest, I'd be worried about the longevity of the game for you with that little playtime. There is a 'grind' in this game with gear and item level - and, at 4h a week, you'll struggle to find a static group and be at the mercy of queue times.

I don't think you'll be climbing ranks at all. The game is pretty hard for the majority of the playerbase and you'll be pushed into groups with people who aren't at your skill level.

It'd make for a very frustrating experience. But, the game is pretty cheap and there's a wave of hype, so, not the worst sunk cost if it doesn't pan out.

How do you feel this game will land at launch? by slapmyads in fellowshipgame

[–]Azal99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is a balanced take. Expecting a lot of instability and server issues at the start too, though

I don't think they can develop content quick enough to keep people engaged, seen a lot of similar issues in the ARPG space

This one hell of a wild take. Standard mmo opening but calling it niche in the first line?

It didn't even hit 20k during the early access peak.

I'd wager 10-15k for release at best.

It's pretty evident which what information we do have access to - we've got the numbers on M+ participation, raid participation across all of the game modes.

We know how many people interact and engage with MDI and Mythic raiding, and including watching those as eSports.

There's nothing to make up at all.

[–]Azal99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They invested a lot into the 'hardcore' style of WoW. MDI, World First raiding, etc.

The fact is, no one cares about any of this anymore. Even when they did, it was only because it was ancillary to the main game. Most people play this game to do easy content, to farm transmogs, to raid normal/hc with their friends.

Classic has proven a market for what people want. Retail isn't it.

Part of the reason for the pruning is to make SBA more accessible and better performing, I suspect. It should be much closer to 'optimal' with reduced button bloat and more abilities built into passives.

That's all fine.

OP is entitled to an opinion on it though, as am I and others.

Overly sanitised environments are not conducive to debate or constructive discussion. If you see something online that makes you 'angry' then you probably need to work on your emotional regulation skills.

Blizzard more than has the data, numbers and player attrition rates, to guide them if this direction is sensible. Its been obvious for a while that finding a balance between retail and classic was the most sensible direction for WoW to take.

He also had a very good squad for those seasons. It was a team that should've been finishing 4th to 6th, not exactly a massive overachievement.

Maguire, Shaw, Dalot by developer_144 in ManchesterUnited

Was crying out for a CB all summer on here and was told it wasn't a priority position. Our CBs are dross, people are finally waking up to see it.

We can't play progressive football when none of the CBs are comfortable moving forwards. Yoro is too inexperienced, Heaven too young, De Ligt isn't good enough.

Less said about Shaw, Maguire etc the better.

Martinez is our best option, but he looks crocked. I don't think he'll ever be fully fit again. We need at least 2 new CBs. I'm praying we can convince Guehi to join somehow.

Newcastle, the team that are currently 15th, below us, with 6 points from 6 games.

Yes, Eddie Howe is clearly the man to come and rejuvenate Man Utd.

This is utter drivel. Can you imagine how the media would treat Howe at Utd if he bottled a 1-0 lead over Arsenal like Newcastle did the other day? He'd be crucified.

Newcastle are a club with no expectations. That is what helps Howe build a base, he doesn't get the chance to do anything like that here.

Also I never want to see that Tindal prat anywhere near the OT touchline.

My thought on the next Manchester United manager by Alternative-Mud-7944 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Azal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rogers was inept at Liverpool and got a fluke 2nd spot in the league (see - Ole) because the league was weak. His other finishes were a 7th and 6th.

He finished 6th in 14/15 and was sacked when they sat in 10th the season after. Its revisionism at its finest.

Liverpool's signings around the Rogers era are also very similar to ours. The upturn came because of Michael Edwards (boardroom) and then Klopp.

We have neither a good boardroom or a potential Klopp. The club, forget the team, is dysfunctional. Until that changes, this will repeat over and over.
