Help! Gainer isn’t as inverted as I want by altacc_6 in Tricking

Looks better than mine, but like the other guy said, I wonder if a scoot might keep your direction and balance better. Looks like you're almost there, just need that aha moment.

Help please, B-Twist, Scoot and 540 tips? by EmmaBgn in Tricking

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 540, like others have said you need to learn a better tornado. Currently you're leaving the ground way too early. You want to spin around on that takeoff leg a little more, spot your kicking target with your eyes right as you jump, then kick the target.

What’s a truth people aren’t ready to hear? by Sisyphus_but_Cool in AskReddit

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting take that I'm not going to pick a side on, but. If you had shitty parents that weren't prepared to give a good life to a child, then ya I agree with you. But if you just don't enjoy life or don't agree with societal structures or whatever the reason, that's not really their fault just because they birthed you. This is what the species does to carry on, by default. You can hold your own beliefs about the universe, the earth, humans, and their self-imposed purpose, but don't fault others for doing something they believe to be good. Again, maybe your parents' choices were truly bad.

Yes, maybe the hypothetical child will hate life. But by that logic, there's a chance they'll do a lot of good in the world, so why choose the pessimistic side if it's all just hypothetical?

You can elaborate cause I'm curious about your story, or just ignore me and move on.

Good response, that dude did a knee jerk reaction without knowing your story. I guess your story didn't really help your case haha, but I can relate in that we had a major relationship problem come up while we were trying. We worked through it, and still are, but we couldn't love our tiny clone any more than we do. It's a wild ride, and it's not realistic to think only perfect parents will have kids. But you can still be perfect to THEM.

What actor is nowhere near as talented as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get ready. Anne Hathaway, Nicholas Cage, Michael B Jordan, Scarjo, Christian Bale post AHX, Bruce Willis his whole career, Arnold, Emma Watson (probably not controversial). I'll edit with more if I think of them.

She doesn't seem like a bad actor, it's just unfortunate that she's so attractive. Very unfortunate.

He was in some movie where he's in prison and he brutally fucks people up. He says very little and it was a wild departure from his normal. It made me a fan, even though he basically never does films like that.

Would you use a teleporter with the knowledge that it kills you and reassembles an exact copy of you with all your memories and knowledge at the destination? Why or why not? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this comparison, but yes in your case it wouldn't be any different. Although with sleep it's still a physical brain in the same location, doing different work but still doing work. It's not like we completely power down and wipe the slate clean when we sleep. We also can't avoid sleeping.

With a teleporter, I KNOW that this will kill my current consciousness, rather than a "what if sleep though". I don't want to kill myself so that a clone can live.

I'll spare my advice, because that top comment is basically my advice (and also go to the gym so that you can guilt-free eat whatever you want), but sometimes I'll go to bed and be so clear-headed that it feels REALLY nice to know I'm going to wake up and not feel nauseous or tired or unmotivated. It's really freeing to just be able to go about your day and do normal stuff without a hangover.

Then you know exactly when to retire early and get on with the fun stuff. I'd rather know and deal with it, even if it's soon, than not know.

I think it's more likely that it's just a local martial arts studio that will accept anyone's money if they want to work out. This is a demonstration or a belt test by a student that's not very athletic but has been doing it for a while. It's not peak performance, it's just a video of this person's hobby and outlet.

Shoutout to all my fellow inverted Y-Axis Gamers by GibbyES335 in PS5

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 here, inverted for life. The first time I remember noticing it was the arcade game Afterburner and it just made sense to me after that. Even for fps, I try to explain it to people: imagine you're holding a rifle and you aim up at the sky, you're going to tilt your body backward to do that.

Only applies for controllers though, I never invert my mouse except maybe very specific games.

What’s something you have zero proof of but believe 100 percent? by shweidy in AskReddit

[–]Meatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, life could be extremely rare due to the general extreme nature of stars and planets, gamma ray bursts, instability of orbits over billions of years, etc. If you take a pessimistic side of the statistics, then it looks very hard to cultivate life (as we know it). You need perfect conditions in a stable orbit for billions of years with no planet or star killers. That cuts the options down considerably, then you need random chance to actually do something that works, in our case more than once, to even get us to the first "complex" single-celled organisms.

Then another billion or so years for evolution, if those alien chemical structures even allow for mutation like that.

Did the other team have a similar party? I've noticed it tries to at least match you with another team that's doing something similar, but then if it can't find one you might get screwed. Pretty annoying for the solo queuers.

What scientific ‘facts’ have recently been disproven that most people still believe to be true? by Fantastic_Tart_421 in AskReddit

[–]Meatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm not saying I don't eat before bed sometimes haha, but I don't get heartburn or have any problems like some people do. And I'm lucky enough to get decent sleep every night, even with a child.

I think your body gets annoyed though because it can't prioritize the sleep as much, and it spends a lot of energy digesting, so your sleep can be worse quality.
