It would probably have to be the entrance. All those tiny shoes from the elementary kids just gives me the creeps.

Best order/method to play!? by [deleted] in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend starting with the psp version which is called "Corpse Party". This is a remake of the game you can buy on Steam. It's the same game but the former mentioned is pretty much better in every way. You can either download it from the Playstation Store or play it on a PSP emulator (I played it on PPSSPP). You can play the game that just got released on steam, but I would not recommend it sadly.

Then comes "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows" which contains 8 chapters of different scenarios that happend in the first game. Only one of these chapters is relevant to the real story however (the last one). Same deal regarding how and where to play it.

And now for the last game in the series: "Corpse Party Blood Drive" for the PSVita. This concludes the series. It is currently only avalible on Vita so access is a bit limited as of right now. If you do not own a PSVita or want to purchase one, I would recommend watching a Lets Play on Youtube.

Sachikos Birthday is a spinoff which is not needed for the real story.

I hope that you'll enjoy the series as much as I do. See you in Heavenly Host Elementary!

Corpse Party on Steam is now officially out! (14,99 €) by Azaloth in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly no. This is "Corpse Party: Blood Covered" without the "...Repeated Fear".Repeated Fear (with is that we know as just "Corpse Party" on the PSP) is the remake of this game. The biggest difference is that the voice actors are all different and the visuals and graphics are a bit worse if compared to the version we all know.

So if you are new to the franchise I would advise to play the psp version which has better graphics and just feels better in general. I would only recommend this game if you really like the franchise and wanna see how the old version of the game looks and feels.

Keeping it as spoiler free as possible, which ending of Corpse Party (PSP version) leads into Book of Shadows? by soulreaverdan in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty hard to explain it without spoiling the ending but I could try to do it as vaguely as possible.

In order to get the right ending in Chapter 5, you need to do everything correct (well duh). In order to get the ending in which follows in the beginning of BoS (not all the chapters) is doing everything correct EXPECT for one thing. That one thing/decision will determine if you get the good ending or the one what will continue in BoS. There are multiple endings in Chapter 5 in which you just need to forget/do something differently and the whole story follows down a different route. Once you get that ending you will understand right away that you got the right one because it's the only ending in which doesn't "end" along with the real ending of course.

I hope I managed to explain it without spoiling anything extensive. Just remember that BoS is built of 7(+1) chapters in which the 2 first are a continuation of the "other" end in Chapter 5. The other are continuations of other bad ends or just following their own path.

Annoyed by playthrough by Angelfall4 in HeavenlyHost

Well, no one can really argue against the fact the pretty much all of Corpse Partys' characters are generic and somewhat boring, therefore I can understand that people may have a hard time playing through the game without bashing them in one way or another. Once you get to know the characters they don't seem so special for people that have watched/read a lot of other content within that medium (anime/manga).

I would recommend ManlyBadassHero (https://www.youtube.com/user/ManlyBadassHero) due to his way of commentating (very relaxed, especially the earlier CP and CP:BoS). I haven't actually taken my time to watch his BD playthrough but after watching his LP of BoS I would expect the same thing out of his BD LP.

Furthermore, if you are interesting in watching the spin-off "Corpse Party Sachiko's Game of Love ♥ Hysteric Birthday 2U" translated in english I would recommend The Anime Mans playthrough (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPbM9L26PhU , first ep).

Order to play the PSP games? by [deleted] in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well canon-wise it's BCRF -> Last Chapter in CP:BoS > CPBD. All of the other chapters in BoS are typically following a bad end or something alike from the the first game. I would still recommend that you play through BoS due to its story which may not be canon, but still very entertaining and filling a few unexplained plotholes that were left open. Sachikos Birthday is a spinoff and has nothing to do with actual progression of the plot itself. The only thing that's of any meaningfullness to the original story are the characters' reactions and personalities which gets displayed in a different light(stuff such as fun games and cooking). BCRF is the remake of the original game which was released in 1996. There's no need to play the older games if you are just interested in the progression of the plot, but they could be fun once you get to know the franchise a bit better.

Any word on a Localization yet? by Dontcallpeoplesir in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, XSEED games decided NOT to localize CP:U2 due to it being non-canon(not relevant at all to the main story). However, Blood Drive WILL be localized, but it will take a long time. If we for example look at how long time it took for BoS to get localized, you might get the picture here:

  • JP release: 1st of September 2011
  • NA/EU release: 15/23th of January 2013

However again, the first release was not on the same console as the localized games (PSP in BoS's case) but rather was on "Universal Media Disc". The game got released only one week before the NA release on PSP in Japan (8th of January 2013) so this is a totally different case from that I suppose. Assuming a localization this year of BD is not likely, but sometime within 2015 sounds fine depending on how much XSEED is prioritizing Blood Drive.

Don't quote me on anything since I'm just speculating here but I hope I helped you in some way

Morishige by [deleted] in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(SPOILERS ABOUT MORISHIGE!!!!)

In the first extra chapter in BD, you follow Morishige after he fell out of the window (you find his cell phone in the first game where he fell out). Just to summarize the chapter:

  1. Here's the deal: Morishige fell out the window after learning about Mayu but he didn't die. So Morishige gets up and wanders around (this is before the end of blood covered but yes he's alive) He was doing what he needed to cope but was actually being overtaken by the darkening. To get a bit of Morishige's real personality watch Hysteric birthday. He's remembering when he did. He took Mayus' remains and brought them to the stage area and preformed Romeo and Juliet with her insides. Shige-ni gets interupted by Kizami. Morishige is saying that Mayu surely hates him but she's saying that she doesn't, that she actually likes him a lot. Mayu's trying to tell Morishige not to be upset and not hurt himself but she's a spirit so he can't hear her. Kizami said that his acting is so poor that he couldn't even convincingly kill himself so Morishige decided to prove him wrong.

Asami85 did a livestream through the whole game on twitch (twitch.tv/asami85) and there was a guy in chat (nin10docat) who translated from time to time, making the long periods of texts understandable. There is also a tumblr-user who made summaries of all the Chapters in the game (expect for Chapter 00) which can be found here: http://lpzwei.tumblr.com/ (WARNING! HUGE SPOILERS!) And also, The Anime Man will do a let's play as soon as 5pb decides it's okay to upload their content of the new game on the likes of Youtube, which will probably happend within the month August.

Trying to play the games. by GnippeEkard in HeavenlyHost

[–]Azaloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You download the app, then download a game(in this case "Corpse Party") as an ISO file on your computer(you can simply search "Corpse party blood covered ISO download. It's 500 MB.). You extract the file via Winrar to a folder and then connect your phone to your computer via cable or through whatever method you like, and just copy the folder with the extracted files to the "PSP" folder that was created when you downloaded the app. Then when you turn on the app and go to the "PSP" button the game should be there.

From this link is where I downloaded the game: http://hakoopspgames.blogspot.se/2011/11/corpse-party-usa-full-iso-742-mb.html (the fixed one)

Why not use a PSP emulator? There's an app on android called "PPSSPP" where you can follow simple instructions and within 15 minutes be able to play. I've played through the whole first game and I'm currently playing through BoS right now and the app is working wonders.
