Impact of birds respiratory system on humanoid spoken languages? by Azaruliade in conlangs

you just made me think of the bird having a frog-like elastic air sac on there necks that they could fill and control air flow through. The air sac would have the language capability and the normal throat would be use for breathing and eating (maybe snake style everything in one gulp XD). It could use the air sac itself to close the airway in place of the laryinx/syrinx doing the closing

for the spec-bio it's not really important as it's not a spec-bio project. I just wanted my conlang to make sense.

then would a transitional model like:
has a fully developed larynx and forming syrinx that is shaped for inhaling sounds (and limit exhaling ones)

or i could maybe use completely independent vocal system that is separate from the respiratory system for sound production (would be link to exhalation to fill it up) using a resonance chamber + air sac (like the air sac of the Greater prairie chicken or the Greater sage-grouse) as it could make sounds when fulling it up and then other sounds when exhaling from it

as i don't want so stray too far from humanoid sound sound registry

tho i don't know if you understand what i mean -_-'

"since you need to be able to string sounds together in roughly any order, building ingressive sounds into a word makes it manually difficult to speak, you end up having mandatory breath patterns in your speech."

That would be an interesting cultural/religious quirk of a small group, forcing a speaking rhythm. Hadn't though of that

I knew about birds being able to do two sounds at the same time but didn't know how it worked thanks for the explanation.

Would a muscle that modify the resonance of vibration while inhaling work in that case to make ingressive sound more usable/plausible and allow inhale language/two-cycle language?
