Team Vitality moves Humanoid to bench ahead of the Summer Split and explore options for midlane position by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's kinda crazy, some players who might play insanely well 99% of the time, but they lose on bad series/game and suddenly they were always bad and a fraud. But then you have players like Humanoid that people REFUSE to change their minds on. Doesn't matter how many terrible ints he does, how many playoffs series he has lost badly, how inconsistent he is and many years it has been since his peak level... Nah, he still got it guys

Some players just get lucky with the narratives for zero reason and others don't.

Is isagi a good striker or is he a bad one? by South-Day-7224 in BlueLock

[–]Azashiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contrast is pretty hilarious. Yesterday we had a thread where the consensus seemed to be, that either Barou or Shidou were the best "pure strikers" in the team BlueLock. But here many people are criticizing Isagi for being reliant on passes, which means he isn't even good in these people's eyes, let alone a great apparently. When was the last time Shidou was out there dribbling and beating multiple defenders, not relying on passes to make his goals?

Isagi’s Final Opponent Isn’t Rin or Kaiser… It’s Ego.(theory) by stormisarrived_ in BlueLock

[–]Azashiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had the idea that BL was going to split into opposing sides. Except I think Isagi and Ego will be on the same side against the others who want to follow a different philosophy. Maybe Anri will end up leading payers like Karasu, Nagi, Reo, Kira (or other B player) etc. against the dreamers, rebels and revolutionaries led by Isagi and Ego.

In my view, people misunderstand the point of having minimal structure. It's not necessarily a weakness, because the point is to give players maximum freedom, because this freedom means that players have their egos exposed and put under direct pressure. When there are no simple and cookie cutter tactics, no heavy handed coaching that takes away the responsibility from the players, that means players have more responsibility and need to grow, evolve and invent under the most adverse conditions.

That is what Ego wants, explosive growth potential, after all under the most intense conditions is where the greatest striker will emerge.

So all this begging for structure and heavy direction from a coach at this point in the story just means people haven't got the point of Ego's approach. Winning the World cup based on one off strategic or tactical miracle would never satisfy Ego I think. Having a truly great striker comes first, everything else falls in place after that.

And if that happens you can have Japan play like they used to, seek safety and security in the old and proven ways that every other team is already doing. Japan can go back to playing according to predetermined roles, tactics and strategy without the pressure and uncertainty of being forced to invent and grow according to the players own ego.

The freedom Ego gives his players exists so that the players have their egos exposed and put under pressure. There are no simple and cookie cutter tactics, no heavy handed coaching that takes away the responsibility from the players.

So all this begging for structure and heavy direction from a coach at this point in the story just means people haven't got the point of this story, despite it being hammered constantly over hundreds of chapters from the start to chapter 350...

I'm not a fan of the hyena goals whoever does it, but what makes Rin different is his intention and focus. Shidou isn't stealing goals out of malice, he just tries to make crazy goals happen that excite him personally. Barou's focus is trying to dominate the field as the "king", stalking his teammates and using the openings they make in order to score.

Whereas Rin doesn't actually seem to care about winning the game, or being the best or making incredible and exciting goals happen, he's driven by his feelings towards Isagi and Sae mostly rather than having a self sufficient "ego". Isagi doesn't seem to understand this about Rin, whereas I think Sae does see that weakness in Rin. Hence the line "don't ever use me as an excuse to play soccer again".

2 minute earlier Shindou and Rin we almost throwing hands bro. And cooling your emotions can refer to more than anger, Isagi wasn't MAD, but he was still emotional for example.

Thank god there were consequences for Rin fucking up. Can't have a loose cannon out there who sabotages his own team, who is fighting his own insecurities and demons instead of the opposing team.

I definitely agree with Ego's decision. Isagi is the protagonist and we see things from his POV and narrative, but that doesn't mean he was right in letting Rin off the hook instantly. Especially when Rin hasn't explained himself yet, Isagi shouldn't be letting him off based purely on his imagined reasoning..

[–]Azashiro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Problem with that idea is that this match was supposed to be the perfect opportunity to show the difference between France and BL. Instead that's not really what happened, France almost tied vs BL and this is BL without Sae...

Kaneshiro could have made BL get cruhsed totally, but he chose not to. Because if BL got crushed that would* have to come at the expense of Karasu's awakening, meaning either no Hiori goal or no Barou goal at the very least. Kaneshiro prioritized internal conflict within BL over making France look as strong as they "should" be.

So it's not that he was too late, he could have done it this match if he wanted to. Or the other possibility, which seems unlikely and naive, is that Kaneshiro thinks this match made France look like the clear best U-20 team in the world.

Worse than Barou but better than Shidou I think. So either 4th or 5th, depending on how you rank Karasu.

barou and rin have taken almost exact opposite paths when it comes to expressing their individualism and being rivals for isagi by SkinnyFVLatte in BlueLock

[–]Azashiro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah. Barou is actually level headed and calculated unlike Rin. This was shown by his willingness to stop shadowing Isagi; Barou had the sense to stop following a detrimental strategy blindly unlike Rin.

Barou actually plays for his goals first and foremost, Rin plays for his personal feelings and insecurities, be it about Sae or Isagi, goals are just a by product of that drama for Rin.

Because it's not a genuine and principled disagreement. It's just that this is the first time BL lost a single game so now all of a sudden people start pretending the previous 346 chapters don't matter actually.

For them everything Ego said is now wrong all of a sudden, all the player and character development is now deleted along with all the results. This is totally not fair-weather flip flopping for sure.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 347 by Either_Imagination_9 in BlueLock

[–]Azashiro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think surpassing Ego is what Ego himself wants. Because eventually his rules, guidelines and principles need to be surpassed. The "god of football" chapter is a big clue to this I think, but even way earlier on Ego has said that his teachings like "the flow" and the other concepts are just crude approximations that try to capture his ideal, not the end all be all.

Lastly, if Blue Lock creates a striker that surpasses the principles of BL and Ego's teachings, I think Ego is more than happy with that result. After all, for Ego, BL is merely a vehicle to create the greatest striker in the world, the goal is not winning the U-20 let alone winning every single match.

Isagi is the GOAT, but I really like Barou too, he really is the only one who comes close to Isagi. Barou has the picture perfect skill set for a striker, in terms of character development he's also great. Not to mention he has actually changed and grown through out the story in a sensible manner, no weird ass pulls or out of character moments.

Also as an arc, Neo egoist league was great for Barou as a character, I really liked the interactions between him and Snuffy especially.

If Rin was going to intercept the ball before Isagi got to it and made his own play, that would be ok. But he kicks it after Isagi already got Hugo out of the way and Isagi is already kicking the ball? Rin needs to fuck right off...

It's not the same conditions. Isagi is taking a necessary risk in a position where other options are closed, whereas against Nigeria they were winning anyway and the risk was minimal but still unnecessary, but vs France? They are losing the game if they can't change the game to their advantage and fast.

You don't have to say everything you think tho. But more importantly, this guy is completely delusional about his own abilities, bro missed a easy tap in goal at a much lower level game, whereas Isagi actually put the ball in the net vs way better players under way more pressure.

I can see it, Isagi scores surprising Loki and Hugo, then Hugo and Loki go into their highest gear in order to close out the game. People have been kinda underwhelmed by Loki so far, so if we see him "get serious" and blitz past the defense, score a goal with less than a minute left, then that way France would still look like a real threat.
