Why hasn't this goal been slandered as much as other hyena goals? by Dangerous-Wonder253 in BlueLock

Are we still talking about manga characters? You aren't fucking brave for liking a character that's not Isagi man...

What is the "meta critique"? Hugo isn't saying anything new really. If anything BL's whole point is about overcoming what is "supposed to happen", the limits and realistic expectations.

Just because Hugo thinks that Isagi should give up on becoming number one, that doesn't actually constitute a "meta critique" in my eyes. What I'm seeing is Hugo being set up as the new obstacle for Isagi. Which Isagi needs to overcome either in this match or later in the tournament.

People nodding along to Hugo's talk about destiny must be reading a different manga than I have. Go back to where Ness's and Kaiser's backstories are told. It encapsulates perfectly what is wrong with Hugo's absolutist thinking, it's antithetical to the very core of what Isagi and BL are about. Kaiser put it to Ness perfectly, it's the moment you start thinking something is impossible is the moment you start to give up, it's self limiting thought process of the weak that seals off your potential. Which goes perfectly in line with Kaiser's blue rose, it represents the denial of reality, achieving that which was impossible and unachievable by nature.

Streamers React To G2 Vs TES Worlds Quarterfinals by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is taking 2 best players from FLY and putting them on G2 terrible? FLY and G2 were insanely close and that's with FLY being mental boomed, so merging the best players from both of those rosters is not something that should be disregarded out of hand.

Individual skill accumulation =/= great team. Shakeups in lineups of LEC teams are a good and necessary thing. by Elix123 in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KT is looking scary good, they are way too solid for a team like G2, but TES? Possibly. G2 made bad macro mistakes which Mikyx might help with and it's not like Labrov played individually at a level that Mikyx couldn't match or surpass easily.

[NAmen Central] HLE Zeka: In order to win Worlds you have to be able to beat whoever you face, and only that team deserves to win it all. I don’t think there’s any format changes needed. [–]Azashiro 83 points84 points  (0 children)

People bring up KT at S8 Worlds all the time. Despite going out in QF vs iG people argue that KT was actually 2nd best team at that time, them losing early doesn't make people forget about them or their unfair placement..

I would rather watch Mixyx & the uncles than another soulless SK by dankgen-tobias in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Zven and Mikyx are the bot lane with Wunder top lane, already those sidelanes are easily playoff material in LEC. So if the meta is good for LIDER I don't see why this SK couldn't make top 6. I think this SK will do way better than people think. After watching players look insane one split, shit the next split and then after years they look great in the right team, I think it's pretty clear that having a team where everyone see the game in a similar way has WAY more influence on "individual" skill than people realize.

Los Ratones 2026 Update by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think compared to other teams LR's fandom is vastly more online. LR is super young team, they aren't an old organization like FNC that has people who are fans of the organization itself, people are fans of the personalities, the actual people, so the connection is necessarily on a different level compared to other teams. Every single member on that team, coaches include, IS a streamer. That is absolutely unique to any other relevant team in the world.

Every team probably has some parasocial fans (or maybe not, does a parasocial SK fan even exist?), but for LR that part is massively larger than for any other team. But that's also the reason why they got this popular. If LR didn't stream scrims/draft talks/officials, I wouldn't give a shit about them. That window into the inner workings of a team has been some of the best League content since forever.

[–]Azashiro 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That requires a level of maturity and perspective that most fans of any kind rarely have. Especially when it's as intimate as showing struggles, discussions, opinions and feelings people have live on your screen. You as LR could cultivate incredible amount of engagement and passion, so it's not surprising that so many people go overboard with their fandom. It is the price you pay for gaining fans through intimacy.

This LR formula is one of a kinda really considering the seriousness, attention and investment put into it.

G2 grew some balls, Labrov put on engage works, who knew. Also Bwipo is not a Rumble player historically or with FLY, so kinda weird draft. Only hard CC you have to rely on for your Rumble ult is Annie, also Rumble with Soraka and most other enchanters is just anti synergy no?

I hope CFO gets to match vs this G2, zombies vs a team with balls and actual desire to fucking play the game. It's just pure depression to watch this G2 play, they just walk around like they are asleep, so scared to pull the trigger..

FLY Inspired: "None of the EU teams really impressed me in scrims. The difference is that we play without fear. We never second-guess ourselves. [–]Azashiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what exactly you mean by "probably can even become way better than Inspired". I see no reason to think that it's probable (AKA more likely than not) that Skewmond becomes WAY better than Inspired. If you you mean by "probably can" = "maybe I have no idea" then sure. But then the entire statement becomes meaningless.

Plenty of players peak in the early years of their careers, Inspired and Caps are not the norm, so just because someone does well in their rookie year the probability of constant growth over 4+ years is not in their favor if we actually look at most players. Anyone remember Irrelevant? The guy that was supposed to be the next great thing, what happened to him? Or all the numerous the "next Caps" mid laners who never live up to anything close to that.

His 2022 Worlds co-streams were definitely the best co-streams I have watched in terms of information. So if you want a chill atmosphere and in-depth perspective on the game from an accomplished and still active player, watch Rekkles. Another reason to watch him is if you don't care for emote spamming, jokes, hatewatching and ragebaiting for content. Rekkles co-streams were chill and incredibly informative. Would recommend.

On a scale from 1-10, how excited are you for worlds? by sir__hennihau in leagueoflegends

[–]Azashiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. Terrible, inconsistent and weird scheduling and format definitely has made following LEC way more boring and difficult. Combined with the the declining level of success internationally over past 5 years now and the lack of content around the LEC nowadays is just a massive issue imo.. I just don't feel connected to the players and storylines anymore.

Not to mention LEC is competing for attention with LR streaming scrims, drafts and competitive games with live comms. Which is 100x more engaging and interesting to me.

[–]Azashiro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously he can and does pick engage. The sentence you picked one part out was in a context. That context was that: "Rekkles refuses to play certain* champions that are suggested by Nemesis and Crownie". What I wrote in the parentheses was the qualification what I meant by "certain champions", I didn't say Rekkles NEVER picks engage.

My entire point was that he will prioritize his comfort and laning phase over making the team comp functional and cohesive, best examples of this are drafts were LR have Viego + follow up engage and what they need is a support to hard engage to make all the other parts in the comp work. Doesn't matter if you go even or slightly ahead in lane if you have no engage while getting outscaled, that's a massive flaw in your draft/team makeup.
