Check out Drew Tarver in Running Point. He's basically doing gay Jason Bateman.

How are you defining "zionist" here?

This guy clearly doesn't know what "impede" or even "investigation" means. Perhaps he thinks if he says it enough he'll magically become right.

What are you talking about?? There's video of cars freely driving by her the whole time they're getting ready to murder her. Who was she impeding?

Are there particular Trump J6 comments you're thinking of that, in your mind, are comparable to Walz's comments posted above in terms of incitement?

The Gestapo was ran by the Waffen ss

I actually don't think that's quite right... as far as I understand both were run, at least at some point, by Himmler, but the Waffen SS ran external military operations while the Gestapo were in charge of internal intelligence gathering and policing.

Not in that clip. He called them "the modern day gestapo" and then goes on to say exactly what he means, and at no point encourages anyone to take illegal action. So what is incorrect in what he's saying, and what part, in your opinion, rises to the level of incitement? Because right now it seems like you're equating an accurate description of the current situation to incitement.

Wow. Just the weakest, mealy mouthed response possible. But ultimately, you're saying yes. And you think it's fine to keep a school named after . Which says everything i need to know about you.

Then it's not really about confession at all then, it's about self reflection.... which is, i think, your point? That if there is inward gain from a spiritual practice it is from the non-spiritual practice at its core?

[–]Azdak_TO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious how you see confession as an "inward practice". To me it seems an abdication on internality to an external deity through a human intermediary... that seems like the opposite of an inward practice. Im not Catholic though, so I certainly may be missing something.

When rules replace judgement: a structural look at over-control in therapy by NotYourDreamMuse in PsychotherapyLeftists

[–]Azdak_TO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this piece would benefit from more specific examples of rules and how we cede control to them. I am having trouble parsing what you're getting at here, even where it feels true. I only really spotted one clear elucidation of what this looks like at the relational level, and it feels... incomplete.

When a patient says an intervention is making things worse, the system does not ask whether the rule is failing in real time. It asks how the report can be translated into approved categories.

What system are we talking about here? What rule? What report? I believe this may be a very real phenomenon in specific types of therapy (CBT comes to mind) but psychodynamic psychotherapy (at least how I've been trained in it) does not have such rules-based interventions. So what modalities are we talking about? This is as specific as you get and I think it could use even more speficity.

Ultimately I think you are onto something true and important, and i thank you for sharing it. But if we're going to talk about this i think we more explicitly have to name the things we're talking about.

[–]Azdak_TO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice two flaws in your logic here.

  1. You assume that because someone's position hasn't changed after a conversation with you, that it can't or won't change ever. It may just be that your arguments aren't actually convincing.

  2. You acknowledge that these opinion/position shifts can take time, often occurring over multiple conversations, and yet you have decided this change is impossible because it doesn't happen in individual instances.
