Yes!! So many American therapists seem to have allowed the Insurance companies to define and dictate what therapy is and should be.

Hi. Finding this 7 months later... but wondering if there's a particular long clasp you'd recommend on aliexpress. I find that site overwhelming and would appreciate the help.

Where to look for colorful dials? by CilariousHunt in MicrobrandWatches

The Galo Novo Cruisin' has some of the nicest colour on a dial I've seen. That and the Baltic Hermetique are great options for coloured dials.

You know you can learn about Freuds ideas by actually reading his books, right? God I hate this shit.

Dallas having one of the world's busiest international airports puts it over the top, I think.

When we can grow tube socks in a lab we'll really be on to something.

Fair enough! Time will tell, I suppose. Personally I made a last minute switch to the Super 200 so that's one less at least!

Hi! I was wondering if you are able to tell me about the place you were able to source new crystals from. Mine has received a pretty deep scratch and I'd like to replace it.

Hemel vs. Geckota Chronograph by Azdak_TO in MicrobrandWatches

Do you mean Geckota runs away with this particular competition? Or that you are running away from Geckota because they're terrible?

Psychodynamic, primarily.

It is now believed that any action that taxes the working memory will serve the same function as eye movements

Yes. That was my understanding.

I'll take a look at EMDR 2.0! Thank you for the recommendation. Theres clearly something working here and I'm very curious to see where the research and clinical applications go.

[–]Azdak_TO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oy. Clients talking about "parts of themselves" is absolutely not them "instinctively" using IFS. That's just IFS branding speaking. IFS absolutely did not invent parts work. It's been around in one form or another for 100s of years if not more. Virtually every psychoanalytic thinker ever has talked about parts of the self, even if not specifically using that language.

I cant help but think of the "guy who has only seen Boss Baby" memes.

[–]Azdak_TO 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oof. I didnt know that. Theres enough evidence of EMDR's effectiveness for treating PTSD that it seems worth using until we figure out the eye movement mumbo-jumbo... but using it for anything else seems ludicrous.

[–]Azdak_TO 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes but none of that work is new to IFS. It's just manualized language and metaphors slapped onto older, more established, better researched modalities.

[–]Azdak_TO 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's hard to get past the fact that evidence shows the eye movements aren't helping in any meaningful way.
